Default AFC is wide open.

Is there a team that really stood out to you today that made you think that they are the team to beat for the AFC? Considering the...

Cheatriots didn't look too awesome today against the Queefs. Lost their starting QB.

Cleveland Turds got punked in their house by the Cowgirls.

I'm watching the Colts and they aren't looking too hot either at the moment.

Chuggers got handed a devastating last second loss by the Steve Smith-less Panthers.

Jaguars lost to the Titans, didn't watch that game but Jags are one of the top AFC teams according to the week 1 "rankings".

The only team that really looked dominant was the Steelers and their running game looks pretty darn impressive.

Granted it is week 1, but I just get the sense that the AFC isn't made up of just a couple teams vying for the AFC championship anymore. Like it was in the past when it was always the Steelers, Cheatriots, Colts, Chargers. The injuries to Brady and with Manning not looking like his dominant self tonight, seems to have thrown the AFC into chaos.

Discussify.

I was just waiting for someone to say the colts suck and Denver can beat them easily since they don't look good tonight. I'll bet they come out and steal this game back. Whether it's week one or not it is only one game.

I dont know , it is only week 1 , but the more physical teams are dominating week 1 , that could change after week 4 with these offenses finally get on same page .but we will see

I watched the bills, impressive win. That was largely done by their special teams play. Steelers were really the only team that made an impression on me.

Honestly, I was impressed with what I saw from the Chargers today, despite the last minute miracle.

I wasn't impressed with their run defense. Their offense looked good but their defense has some work.

From parts of the game I saw was a Ol and DL getting dominated , granted I didnt get to see the entire game , bu for a while there Panthers stop running o ntheir own and went pass happy , I felt they could have ran the ball at will

Seriously? What impressed you exactly?

The only thing I saw that was good from them was pass rush. Everything else in their game was not too good.

me too. Rivers really impressed me today. Even though he lacks physical gifts he always seems to shot put the ball perfectly at times. I am thankful they lost and that they have already started to be affected by the norv turner effect and that LT is a prima donna who won't use the preseason to knock the rust off and has started slowly these last two years.

The Chargers should be really happy that we have been rebuilding these past few years so that they could be the pride of the afc west, but Itruly believe they are going to underestimate us next week and we may pull it off.

we are going in opposite directions right now. and I hope we catch up sooner than later and get back on top where we, as a well coached, high character team without FO drama belong.

it's going to be tough next week.

i have said all off season Denver is going to surprise the league and end up with a 1st round bye in the playoffs this year.
Gone are the days of New Cheatland, Indy, and San Diego running the AFC. The new big 3 in the AFC will be Denver, Pitt, possibly Indy if that O-Line heals up(Peyton remains the top QB in the league.....For Now.....Jay is going to take that crown sooner rather than later).

The beginning of the end for NE was losing the super bowl, they will never be the same again.
San Diego was never going to win a super bowl, and were overhyped. Their own fans were right, stats don't matter, wins do. And sadly for them that entire organization is incapable of winning big games.

Indy is still a good team, but with their injuries to key players and rust and age showing on Marvin, Jax or Tennessee is going to dethrone them.

The AFC North is basically Pittsburgh and who cares about the rest.
Cleveland and Derek Anderson are both overrated,
Cinci sucks
Baltimore won't win with a rookie QB

I can honestly say without being a homer that if Denver's defense is improved and can stop or limit the run, force a few turnovers and give the offense a few short fields, that Denver could easily become the top AFC team this year and for years to come.

Don't let leave out Tennessee. It isn't pretty, yet they continue to win. I think the bolts will be fine. They made key stops(until the end) and scored at will when they had to. They are missing two starting O-linemen, Gates is still hurt, etc. As much as I hate him, Rivers makes plays.

Tennessee could be even better with Kerry Collins at QB now.

everybody needs to take a deep breath...

we haven't played yet and we are already a top three team?

come back to reality...we are young and we aren't even the best team in our division right now.

we are going to have to play near flawless football this season to be anywhere near as good as some of you are suggesting.

act like you've been there before. we aren't charger fans...

we have a toe hold on reality, and we know what it feels like to be a winner.

don't get carried away.

back on the soap box now, and I retract the top three statement...

but, jeez this is not a debate that is winnable...

go back and read this thread and see if you see it differently.

I feel optimistic and happy that the chargers were norved, but this kind of delusion is not what I expect from real fans.

we aren't bandwagon fans, or idiots.

this is the most homeristic board today, and it isn't just your statement or this thread...

what if we get stomped tomorrow, than I will have to hear how we are the cellar dwellars of the league.

it's so jeckyll and hyde here.

you know what I mean...and it is dissapointing to watch sometimes, because I think broncos fans are some of the smartest in the nfl.
