I love Mike Leach. He treats the staff well and will talk to anybody. He's a good guy. He's also a great coach for Texas Tech! Lay off Mike Leach!

I am surprised Nalen or Hamilton isn't captain instead of Graham, but I guess if he is a vocal leader they will take that.

Champ, DJ, Jay and Leach there is really nothing you can say about that. Leach is the longest tenured ST player we have, Champ, DJ and Cutler are 3 of our superstars, makes sense.

Apparently last year they had to talk him into it. It was something he wasn't comfortable with. Nalen is the veteran, potential HOF player, but he'd rather be the grumpy guy in the corner of the locker room with something sarcastic to say than a rah-rah kind of guy. Being that he's still nicked up probably had something to do with it too.

Does't the Denver o-line usually just stick to themselves? Doesn't make much sense to have "team" captain be one of the guys that try to exclude themselves from the team.

Not saying he's not a team player, just that they don't go out of the way to be the life of the offense.

Someone was trying to tell me Stokely over Graham on an earlier captains thread. I asked why and got no response. Graham makes sense to me, everyone says he works hard, the team loves him, he doesn't talk a lot of smack, and he's our starting TE.

As much as us fans like to sit here and go "ooooo" and "ahhhh" over who is or is not captain, its something that matters not in the grand scheme of things. As long as they are capable of shaking hands, calling "heads", and pointing to one side of the field or the other they will make a fine captain. Behind the scenes, in the locker room, who knows who really is being a team leader.
