Default How are you picking SD in your pools/bets

I was wondering if anyone thinks that Rivers will be able to go the whole game.

I have a confidence pool at work, I am not confident that Rivers will be able to go 60 min after he was hobling around late in his last outing.

Couple that with LT's slow starts every year because "LT Don't do PS" and I am wodering if I just take SD low or even roll the dice on Carolina.

Chargers win but I would pick other games to go high on. Middle to upper is good. 8 to 10 is safe. I think Carolina will be good but i think they have injuries too. Pats over KC should be your extreme pick. Hell, I wouldnt put visiting Broncos higher than a 6 or 7.

I don't know, but L.J. Shelton vs Julius Peppers doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun to me.

Carolina is going to be a good team this year. Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams are going to dominate some teams.

You guys seem to place a lot of stock in preseason performances. Check out the Carolina highlights.

I have the Panthers + 9 in my pick em. Bolts should win, but it should be closer than the spread indicates.

Kaylore is right. WIthout Steve Smith they are going to be hurting. They have no real proven run game right now and while defensively they will be a tough out, they just dont have the firepower on offense right now.

First week picks are aways crazy. You have no idea if the team is going to look like they did last year (either good or bad) or come out and completely surprise you.

I agree that Carolina should bounce back this year but they need Steve Smith in the lineup to do that. Nine is a big spread but I would take San Diego. Too many weapons on SD's offense compared to none on Carolina's offense.

I don't know what I'm doing this Sunday yet, but I love Cincy -1.5 @ Baltimore.

Thanks boys, I am going with BCJ's rec.

I was just over thinking it, if rivers can't go and the 1st 4 games are usually LT's Preseason, etc...

I forgot Smith is out.

i picked Carolina to win and currently have 500 bet that San Diego doesn't go any better than 10-6 this year.

BTW, to many others in this thread, if you're not taking SD to cover, you're in a losing bet.

Yea, I would have to say that not picking SD would be dumb. It doesnt matter who is hurt for them, Carolina is a bit banged up as well

She's a Dolphins cheerleader. Well, she was last year. Can't say if she still is. I'm not stalkerish enough to find out.

I just read somewhere that the Chargers are 15-1 at home over the past two seasons and last season outscored their opponents 81-0 in the first quarter, the biggest differential in NFL history.

Take the Chargers.

Carolina matches up really well against the Chargers, particularily with the slew of injured players on San Diego's offense. We don't want to get into a ball control game with the Panthers. It will be a rout if Rivers and the O punch in their first couple possessions, but a drawn out slugfest favors Carolina imo. The line has moved up to 9.5 this morning. If I wasn't such a huge homer, I'd look at taking it. San Diego is fragile right now, and that's a lot of points to cover.

400z just gained a lot of respect from me.

He must have had a time machine.

BTW BCJ you owe me $10, and I am coming to Denver to collect at the OM Tailgate. I will be bringing the thunder if you don't pay up!

I knew I should have gone with my gut!
