We dont have all the facts yet. You rarely hear of people just randomly shot.. people killed in drive bys are killed usually by being to close to the target. seems fishy to me.. but still sad that he might lose his life

Update from PFT:

Quote:
Jacksonville Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver released a statement this morning on the shooting of offensive tackle Richard Collier in which he described Collier’s condition as “critical but stable.”

“We’re shocked and deeply saddened by this morning’s news about Richard Collier,” Weaver said. “We have been informed that Richard has had surgery and he’s in critical but stable condition. The entire Jaguars family is praying for Richard and his family at this time.”

Authorities say the shooting happened as Collier and former Jaguars defensive end Kenneth Pettway waited in a Cadillac Escalade for two women they had met in a nightclub. Collier was reportedly shot several times, but the exact nature of his injuries is not clear.

Denver's no slouch either and thats not a good thing. Moreover, they might have the worst detectives in these United States.

Broncos can help Jacksonville cope

September 2, 2008 7:29 PM

Posted by ESPN.com's Bill Williamson

As the Jaguars deal with the traumatic fallout over the shooting of offensive lineman Richard Collier, the team needs to get a handle on the enormity of the situation.

There is so much for the organization to cope with, particularly emotionally. Here's some advice for the Jacksonville organization: Contact the Denver Broncos, just as the Washington Redskins did last year when safety Sean Taylor was shot.

Unfortunately, the Broncos are experts in dealing with tragedy. In a span of 55 days in early 2007, Denver lost two players.

On January 1, 2007, starting right cornerback Darrent Williams, one of the most popular players in the locker room, was shot and killed in downtown Denver after hosting a New Year's Eve party, hours after the Broncos final game of the 2006 season. In late February, when the Denver coaching staff was at the NFL combine in Indianapolis, reserve running back Damien Nash died suddenly after taking part in a charity basketball event.

The Broncos were lauded by both the Williams and Nash families for how the organization handled the situation. The Broncos were involved, especially in Williams' situation, from nearly the moment word broke of his shooting to well past his funeral. Many Denver players praised the team for helping them cope with the tragedies. Broncos officials helped the Redskins deal with the situation last year.

While the Jaguars' collective minds have to be spinning, they need some support and some advice and the Broncos can certainly provide that.

Why do you think Denver has such bad detectives? From everything I've read, Denver PD is one of the better law enforcement agencies in the area and actually supports their officers, which is far more than the Jacksonville Sheriffs Department can say.
