Sure you know something. You know how well our guys can handle one-on-one match-ups. Using a Coyer system to blitz to cover up your lack of front 4 push is dangerous.

I'm still not impressed with play I see from several guys who will be starting on defense. The best thing about this game was how well the bkup oline played and how good the kicking games looks. Either punter will be better then last yr. Praters kicks sail to the endzone everytime. Just the touchbacks could mean 20-30 less points given up this yr.

Who knows maybe Broncos can be a lot better then I originally thought the offense really looks that good.

Um when you have to resort to stunts and blitz it means you have no DL. Our D is mediocre at best.

No , i dont where you get that , Stunts are as old as the 4-3 itself , it isnt a 3-4 where you have a NG dominating .......

Im very impressed., Were stopping the run this pre season....Unlike last pre season.

Plus were forcing turn overs which is good.

Because our DL is horrid. Coyer ran the blitz game and was great until mid season. But teams adjust. I say this team will be in the 15-20 range. But our D will be our achilles heal.

Ok. Don't be concerned that our DL can't beat one-on-one matchups.

I can make assumptions based on 4 pre-season games on our DL's ability or lack thereof to win the one vs. one battle. You on the other hand don't have a leg to stand on. Smoke and mirrors.

If you don't have players that can make plays, no amount of stunts, blitzes and or other trickery will work in the long run. Being a Bronco fan, you should already realize this as we've lived it for several seasons now.

I'll be happy with a mid- to good level defense. This team will rise and fall with the offense.

well because the broncos offense is pretty good we might be able to survive this season with an average defense.

next year we have to draft early on the defense though.

by the way you have to blitz and stunt to get pressure on the qb. every single team does it. i dont know why its wrong that we do it.

Sorry Apa, but anyone whos says "if you have to resort to stunts you have no D-line" doesn't know what they're talking about.

Look at the Giants they ran stunts nearly every down in the superbowl.

Small quick D-linemen are all over the NFL and they are usually utilized in a loop heavy scheme, if our Front seven reacts well to the run during a front four stunt then we'll be able to run it on a significant portion of the snaps.

The stunts comment I am wrong on you are right. But the blitzing that we will have to do to make pressure will bit this team in the ass. Our D will sink us. I am sorry you guys are getting your hopes up but this team will be hurt by our D.

Our regular season starting D-line has played together for roughly 1 half the entire preseason, what type of assumptions can you make other than they didn't collapse the pocket whilst running straight forward into the opposing O-line.

I agree with this. I think being able to stunt well is a sign of a good line (not the only indicator of course), but if you HAVE to blitz to create pressure you are setting yourself up to be bad. The truely elite defences can mix it up and still get pressure

And my answer to that is:

1.) I don't think we need to blitz every down.
2.) An average pass defense does not equate an average defense.

hey its not like we dont have any corners.
remember we have champ and dre.

we will also get more turn overs because of the blitzing. champ will probably be back to 8 interceptions again.

plus we still dont kow how much dewayne robertson will improve us. he barley has played this preseason.

take a single situation among many, and treat it as an absolute in a failed attempt to justify your point.
