Then he goes off and makes a great play for a TD, then gets the 2for.

That was an amazing play by Hackney. He scored that TD.

He may suck, but he's still better than Croyle. At this point the chefs should think about trade a 5th round pick to the Broncos for Hackney.

Honestly. Who has played better this preseason. Ramsey or Hackney?
Hackney deserves a shot. Somewhere. |

I've only watched the first quarter and change... but Hackney already looks better than anything I've seen from Ramsey, which isn't saying anything. He's fairly elusive, sold the play-action well and can get out and run a little. That's at least ONE dimension to his game... while Ramsey seems to have a game that features NO dimensions.

Ramsey must be one of these Engleberger-types. Says/does the right things in practice and gives Shanny wood.

I don't see what anyone sees in hackney. He takes too long to find his receiver and panics way too easily. he has a great arm, but its not all that accurate. At the first sign of trouble he looks to run. Sure, he's made some nice plays in spurts, but anyone with an entire game should. I just dont see what you guys are seeing.

I was hating on Ramsey..but Hackney did not look all that great.
He does look to run before he needs to. And he didn't have the vision to see his receivers..helll he has to JUMP to complete a dump over the line. He's a good athlete...but not a great QB. |

Hackney has played better. I dont get what they see in Ramsey. I know Cutler likes Ramsey but Im not sure Cutler should be picking the back up. Hackney has played better than Ramsey and also if put into a game situation, Hackney actually has some mobility. So if a play breaks down, Hackney still gives us a chance whereas I get the feeling Ramsey will go to the fetal position. It really sucks because I like the signing of Ramsey to be a back up, but it really seems like he has regressed since coming here. He seems more and more overwhelmed. |

He at least looks athletic and confident. He's a back-up, no doubt... but Ramsey just drops back, looks frightened and then lobs the ball into coverage or takes a sack on every play.
There's no question in my mind we'd have a better chance surviving a game without Cutler using Hackney than Ramsey at this stage. |
