Default Joe Biden mentions Floyd Little in speech

Anyone see Joe Biden's short speech at Invesco Field?

He mentioned Floyd Little in the first minute . . . pretty cool.

They were at Syracuse together and have remained friends. Wish Biden spoke Tuesday night instead of Wed or Thurs, his mentioning Floyd then might have put him over the edge for the HOF.

He could tattoo Little's name on his arse and I still wouldn't vote for him.

one major problem is that Floyd is a Bronco and the committee frowns upon most wearing orange n blue.

If Dems get in the white house, maybe Biden can crank up Roger Goodell and get HOF consideration to include character as a requirement, like getting into Cooperstown.

Then, guys like Floyd who was both a tireless community worker off the field and had great on-the-field stats would get the nod over guys like Bob "I was a convicted felon doing time for drug trafficking" Hayes . . . off the ballot.

While its nice that he mentioned it and all its just too bad its just politics. He knew (or his writters) that using that little tid bit would get him some CO brownie points. Personally without the heart in the words I'm not impressed

Biden and Little were pals at Syracuse, and have remained friendly. I think the shout-out was genuine.

What was funnier was the collective response in the stadium: "Who?" Good thing they panned to the Ring of Fame.

You really think voting for a guy who has no executive experience, no experience dealing with foreign dignitaries and never sponsored a piece of legislation is a good idea?

I know for a fact that Biden's shoutout to Floyd was genuine.

They have been friends for years. Floyd has mentioned it a few times long before Biden was tapped as Obama's VP.

Just last year, Floyd and Biden were speaking at a Syracuse function when Biden told the crowd, while pointing at Floyd: "My man Floyd Little, my dear friend, he should be in the Hall of Fame. He was the greatest back I ever saw."

Floyd was shocked because he had never talked to Biden about the Hall of Fame.

I don't think his handlers or speech writers knew anything about #44. I'm positive Biden is the one who told them he was going to mention Floyd. He could have easily mentioned Elway like someone probably told him . . .
but he didn't.

He mentioned his friend from college.

I love the fact that so many of the pundits immediately jumped all over the Palin nomination and her only having 600 odd days on the job. I mean the only thing worse would be if we had a presidential nominee who had zero executive experience and less than two hundred days spent in the Senate, and whose entire platform is basically a pretty face and charisma. Wait a minute....

What executive experience does McCain have? Clinton didn't have experience dealing with foreign dignitaries when he got elected & he was loved around the world.

Yep, saw where voting for a guy who had executive experience got us.

No, what's worse is voting for a guy whose had executive experience, basically bankrupted one of the previous business's he "owned", but never had a real job in his life and who's entire platform ended up being screwing the people of the United States royally. Yeah, I want some more of that.

Bush can't run again.

anyone that votes republican this year cannot b**** about the economy, foreign policy, gas prices, white collar crimes, job losses, the global economy, the iraq war, loss of civil liberties, the state of the dollar, the stock market, the housing market, the crime rate, and counterterrorism.

seriously, if there was a democrat in the white house these last eight years, and things are the way they are now, democrat would be a dirty word and the party would nearly cease to exist.

it's amazing how playing to people's fears and animal instincts can really change how they vote or what they choose to see.

wake up everybody!

the republican party and all it's moderate conservatism sold out to Japan during the reagan years and has been co-opted by neo-fascist neo-cons. it IS about war profiteering, oil profits and the carlyle group.

the republican party should have to put an LLC after the name.

it is dead, just like how democrats sold out the left.

we are all basically the same and want the same things as americans...

the neo-cons have sold out your patriotism for cold hard cash, and if you vote republican this year, you will feel sorry if you don't secretly already do now.

it's o.k. to admit you were wrong and lied to repubs... us dems had to a long time ago.

here's to a unified party for the people some day.....
