I keep picturing what would happen if I was doing donuts in my car with 1 lugnut on each wheel.
And also that episode of the simpsons where homer makes the springfield kicker blow out his knee, and then he kicks anyways and his leg tears off. |

guy is crazy is you ask me - they say he's playing for a couple of million?
But what he's obviously not thinking about is the fact that he's putting all of his future earnings at risk; an amount that would no doubt far exceed what he could earn this year. Also, he has to make 12 sacks to reach his maximum escalator - there is no way he does that this year carrying that injury imo |

The injury wont affect his straight ahead speed.
Only side to side, maybe he goes for 10 sacks or more then tells SD to give him a big contract. |

Either he's not hurt and is a drama queen, or he really is the stupidest guy on the planet for risking his future in this fashion.

The guy is playing on one wheel, and is risking his career.
I call that a Team Player. Kellen Winslow Jr would call that an effing Soldier. |

have to give the guy credit for being a gamer, but I would not be surprised if this shortened his career drastically

Don't want to wish injury on anyone, but what if he further jacked up his knee, and thus was out for the year doing that god-awful Lights Out dance?

I dont think he will make it long enough to see week 4. You dont mess with the knee! Im 28 years old and sometimes I hobble around like im 80 all because of a knee.

If I am the Chargers I tell him he is playing out the rest of rookie deal if he wants a new contract halfway through the season.
There is NO reason in the world to give a guy a deal in the 70 mill dollar area with 30 million guaranteed if his knee is going to explode into a million pieces in year 1. He still has 2 years left uncluding this one and if the CBA expires I don't even think he qualifies for UFA because he would only have 5 seasons if I am not wrong. The Chargers have ALL the cards right now. The smart thing to do career wise would be to take the surgery, come back next year and lay down the law, because you know if he is healthy and going into RFA he will get an offer sheet if they don't give him a deal. |

The more I think about this the more stupid it becomes. I can't believe Charger fans think this is cool. Four doctors all told him the same thing and he basically blew it off. If he blows his knee out and thinks the organization is going to reward him anyway for laying it on line for them, he is going to become a cautionary tale to every player in the league for the rest of the NFL.

It's funny how many of you 'tards are cheering for an injury. Classy. FTR, he's reiterated time and again that there is no threat to his career by playing, yet the main-stream media continues to report he's putting himself at future risk. In fact, doctors told him he coudln't do any further "long term" damage, but reccommend he have surgery, basically because it's going to be needed sooner or later...
Personally, I have mixed reactions to his decision. I admire his enthusiasm for the game and his team. But, if he does end up getting knocked out mid-season, I see his move as actually hurting us by taking a roster spot now. And of course how well he plays has to factor into the whole equation. |

I actaully hope if it happens, it isnt by our team. Bad enough everyone thinks we block illegally so why not have a Panther do the job that every team is willing to do. This guy is a bonafide idiot. His career is on the line for this one year.

majik, i am just commenting on your FF team where you have a Charger and a Chief on it. Horrible! This is why I dont play for money and if I do auto draft a division rival, I dump him or trade him. No way I root on a division rival team. Best to choose Broncos and only NFC teams (and sit out if they play the Broncos).
