Good for Pueblo... Colorado seems to be doing a VERY good job of bringing in these companies.

Pueblo is enjoying all time highs in employment right now (high paying jobs) partly in thanks to the union work at Comanche and the Pueblo Army Depot.

Motel rooms are non-existent on many days.

More profits for GE. T Boone Pickens better hurry up and get his "Green" subsidies before the GE supported canidate wins the elections and makes GE the sole energy provider under the Nationalized power grid. That make presidents in two countries owned by GE (Iran and US). Now wonder why GE owned MSNBC supports Obama. This is change we can believe in, just like Putin in Russia.

That's pretty cool! Transmission (gear box) screw up but still cool. New 1+ MW turbines are supposed to be able to withstand 150+ mph winds.

You do know that Vestas is a Danish owned company right?

And that as a nation we're woefully behind in actually building green energy resources, right?

You keep sounding off on those half cocked conspiracy theories about GE being some super power when we go green, and somehow pulling an Obama = Putin comparison out of your ass when Putin has enacted a fascist military state upon the Russia people, and is an ex-KGB spy looking to bring back to cold war, basically everything Obama is not.

But hey, keep drinking that kool-aid, god knows he'd be tough to have to actually read up what these candidates stand for and decide for yourself. Its much easier to attach yourself to a random political group and parrot their every word, despite how heavily it conflicts with your own personal interests.

And just who owns Vestas? Denmark is not Dutch or one of the 56 states. GE is a global conglomerate that also owns large portions of stock in smaller traded companies. Did you see how the price of Vesta stock doubled while GE would have stayed unchanged?
Obama is not Putin. Putin actually has experience in leadership and calls his own shots. Obama could never be a puppet master. Obama does stand for increased socialization and taxation without representation of the United States. Barry Obama does believe the United States is evil, and must be destroyed in order to be fixed and be more like China. Where do you think he made his $4M dollars last year? I really think that maybe you should examine the stand on the issues of both unqualified canidates- not pick which one matches more closely to your values. It's not as easy as choosing which shirt matches your pants.
The interests of the United States have alway s outweighed my own personal interest- but I understand why you are projecting your "parrot" view upon me. Good luck being progressive, I suggest you decide whether you are Democrat, liberal, or progressive. I am for liberty, personal responsiblity, and smaller federal government.

Obama wants to drain your 401K and give it to middle class families at $1000 a year. This money will be used to weather your homes and buy sweaters for the entire family when you can't afford the heating costs.

Take back your liberty.

89 wind turbines are going up in the Burlington area. Another 50 are going up by Calhan. Smart for the company to build a plant in a state where wind farms is an emerging industry.

Not so much. I pointed out the thread's (and Barry Obama's) support of the Russian right to suppress freedom and the GE/MSNBC support of "change you can believe in". You threw stones instead of arguement and compared my appreciation for liberty, personal responsiblity, and self determination to Putin. Does jumping back and forth across the fence poke holes in your britches?

While GE will make big cash from alternative energy sources, it is one of the many ways the US needs to develope in order to become energy sufficient. The government needs to step out of the way and let encourage the economic side of change so the new sources of energy are efficient and given to the consumer at the lowest possible cost. The government does not need to treat consumers as victims and producers as villians.

I also support 30 more seconds of loving every day. It may not increase your quantitiy of life, but it sure improves the quality.

We have 3 temps in Zona: 1) Hot 2) Hell 3) Hotter than Hell
The stadium is air conditioned to watch the Bronco non-starters play this Friday. If you come down for a game, be sure to visit the new solar collector array the Spanish are building at Gila Bend. Air conditioning has tamed the Sonnora, but without electricity this part of Azteca would be worthless.

I'd hope GE's stock would remain unchanged, after all, Vestas is their biggest competitor in the wind turbine market. It'd be pretty ****ed up if when one competitor does well the other's stock rises.

Really? Got any quotes? FYI you get to vote, thats representation. And unlike McCain who will unilaterally give our tax dollars to the specific companies he sees fit to give them to Obama will instead put them back into the open market for all companies to have a shot at if they start either reducing their energy usage or producing a renewable energy, clean energy, or energy efficient product.

Where you getting this from again? Got any links or are you just a scared little bigot believing the bile the right wing mouthpieces pour down your throat?

Where do you think he made his $4M dollars last year?
Probably his two best selling books, his senate salary, his salary for teaching law at one of the premier law school's in the world, oh, and don't forget the fat check his lawyer wife pulls down as she also a top legal professional in her field.

Quote:

Oh I have, McCain's are 20th century stances that are old and archaic, they have no viable applications in the 21st century, and his reasoning is backed by lobbyist dollars. Obama is bringing 21st century economics and energy policy to the table. They are backed by empirical evidence supplied by trained professionals in each specific field.

Funny you should mention liberty. McCain will gladly keep all the many civil rights violating acts in place that Bushy and Cheney have pushed through, while Obama has specifically said they are first priority to go down when he is president.

So who's the pinko commie here, the guy who wants to wire tap your phones and track every purchase you make under the pretenses of "keeping us safe from terrorists", or the guy who actually thinks our personal freedoms are more important than having our impractical fears massaged away into a sea of big brother oversight?

Leave it to the right wing nuts to hijack a thread about a company bringing jobs to Colorado.

Pretty much.

And if you like the idea of factories like this, producing hundreds to thousands of jobs, cropping up all over the country, and maybe, just maybe, owned by American companies, vote for Obama.

Now if you'd like to see an oil rig in every yard and truck full of nuclear waste on every highway, without actually SOLVING the energy crisis, just slightly delaying the inevitable, then by all means, vote for McCain. He'll be dead by the time the bill comes due for his horrible economic and energy policies.
