Everyone's Favorite Rookie WR, Eddie Royal!
I walked up to Eddie Royal and introduced myself and told him about the OrangeMane. I explained that we had over SIX THOUSAND fans from around the world, all of which are dedicated but 'displaced' Broncos fans. I told him what we were doing with these reports in support of the fans and he was familiar with us, so he allowed us to ask him a few questions: OM: Eddie, how are the legs holding up? Usually this time in camp you find your second wind and the legs are back and strong. Eddie Royal: The legs are feeling good, real good. OM: We are anxious to see you return some punts, how do you feel back there? Eddie Royal: I'm comfortable and I think we have a good supporting cast. I didn't get a chance to return any last week so I'm looking forward to some live action. OM: We'll be back this afternoon to see the show. We're anxious to report how you do. Eddie Royal: *Grins* OM: Do you expect to be a big part of the Red Zone offense this year? (Royal scored a TD late in the scrimmage on a 5 yard out to the front corner of the end zone.) Eddie Royal: I want the ball and I’m just working hard to get noticed. Definitely I want the chance to score and do my part. He concluded by stating, Thanks for the support Orange Mane – Keep it up, we love ya! After impressive workouts against the Dallas Cowboys, Eddie Royal is beginning to grab the attention of many…perhaps most notably, Adam Jones. Pacman lined up opposite of Royal several times this morning and the rookie was able to hold his ground. Eddie Royal is soft spoken and confident. You can tell he belongs and if I didn't know I wouldn't guess he is a rookie. He has been making plays all over the field and yet he remains humble and hungry. I don't know about the rest of you, but right about now I'm thinking a #19 Jersey would look mighty good in my collection! Last edited by Broncoman13; 08-14-2008 at 04:15 PM.. |

Good, work! Did you ask him how much he pays JMFW to let him catch in practice?

Eddie Royal with Cheese... bringing it, I love how this guy competes and doesn't use "rookie" has an excuse...he wants to win his roster spot and takes advantage of all his reps..Good for HIM!!! I'm agreeing with you, a ROYAL Jersey would be sweet.

I thought to myself during the game against Houston Royal looks like a player. During his kick returns he ran upfield without hesitation, kept driving his legs after contact and impressed me with his speed.
I have no idea how he will turn out, but my initial impression is with Royal and Marshall, Shanahan might have finally established a comparable receiving tandem similar to Rod Smith and Eddie Mac. |

Eddie Royal may turn out to be our 2008 draft MVP. I was also impressed with how hard he worked against Houston...

Royal also stuck with his blocks against Houston - that's good news!

Amazing what a difference a few months can make.
During the draft it was a whole lot of WTF!!!!! Now its honeymoon dreams and champagne kisses (cept for Popps). He DOES act like a pro and he clearly has PR\KR talent. He looked better in the Houston game returning than Hixon ever did in Orange. Not in yards...but in decisiveness. At the very least...he is a good prospect. |

Just from watching his college film and the game the other night, I don't know if he'll be a regular contributor, but he WILL leave DBs in his dust and Cutler WILL deliver him the ball at least once a game.
He's showing flashes already. |

http://www.honoluluadvertiser.com/ap...-1/SPORTSFRONT You might laugh, but I absolutely wouldn't be shocked to see us take a look at him if he gets cut. Not saying I'm in favor, but oddly... he was much more productive here than anywhere else. Good lord, I remember the Ashley Lelie wars around here. The Marshall tiffs don't even live in the same universe. |
