Default Brandon Marshall plans to appeal his three-game suspension.

Marshall's agent is upset that his client had to learn about the suspension in a press release. If that's the only ground for appeal, expect it to be rejected. "He's anxious to have some modicum of due process," the agent said.

Uggh, if he appeals it'll be postponed, might throw off momentum midseason or something, better to just get it out of the way

Also, if he were to appeal, he should appeal based on the precident (sp?) set by Marshawn Lynch's case.

i completely disagree...

if (and i do mean if) by his appealing it allows him to postpone his suspension til a little later into the season then i'm all for it...

how we start the season is pivotal...and i don't want to open against 2 division rivals without our best weapon on offense...

the home game against the chargers is extremely important and i'd want him for that game over any other one...

I'm not exactly sure if appealing it will postpone the suspension, like it does in baseball... I think. Seeing that there is a month before the start of the season, I'd say that it should be handled before then.

I say appeal it. Goodell is on a power trip and seems to love to drop the hammer on players. The process to punish a player needs to be revamped. Somebody needs to stand up to this BS.

Worked for Travis Henry, although he also had a lawsuit going against the NFL.

I completely agree with your disagreement.

I'd prefer Marshall play against two division opponents.

Only thing wrong with that logic is the pre-season hasn't even started. Since he would be appealing to the guy who slapped him with it it will be denied pretty quick as in before the season.

Good. Hopefully he can flat out win the appeal. If not, drop the appeal mid-season when we're in a weak 2 game stretch and Royal/Jackson/Colbert have more polish in the system.

As much as I want him to get the suspension out of the way, if there is any way for him to be available week two against those MF's from San Diego then I say do it. However, that's just the emotional fan in me. I have had week 2 circled on the schedule since it came out. I'm not saying we are going to beat them, but I think it will be a nice barometer to gauge our improvement.

I hate to play devil's advocate but 2 games is 2 games and we don't have many I can see that are "easy" enough to afford him not being in at all

I say just get it over with, the second we start relying on one single person to win...we are clearly screwed anyhow. I am confident enough in the team that I think they can fill the role while he is gone, not to the same level but enough to remain in a game.

Besides, it is our defense we should be pulling for to play all 16 games.

Not that it has a chance in hell of being pushed off until them, but at Falcons, vs Raiders, at Jets and vs Chefs are four in a row in November/December that certainly wouldn't be gimme losses without him.

Whether or not there are "easy"games, if we want a good shot at making the playoffs, trying to be in the top of the division by beating Oakland and SD is likely our best way to do it. If we lose down the road to Tampa Bay and Jacksonville... it sucks, but it doesn't have as much effect on our teams position for the playoff race as our teams position in the AFC West.

Falcons and Raiders I agree with, not so sure on the Jets but absolutely I see your point and don't disagree in general.

Just saying, if we can pull out 2 without him, imagine the confidence WITH him.

we are appealing to the very guy who decided on the original suspension. however, how m. lynch got no suspension time for a HIT AND RUN is beyond me

absolutely agree with your point, I am just saying no 2 game stretch is a good 2 game stretch to drop 2 games and most the bad teams we play are followed by a divisional game

Doesn't the timing of his suspension coincide with his DUI trial? He could have timed it better, provided he doesn't get the ball and chain from the judge.

Idiot needs to stop fugging up!

Yea, if there's any chance of postponing this thing via appeal, he has to seek it out. Missing the first three games, two against division opponents absolutely ****s us. We basically slotted him in as the focal-point of the entire offense... and he's potentially gone for the first three.

This team will be scrapping for every win. Dropping into a hole to start the season is not going to serve us well.

As much as I think he's a tool.. and deserves it, from a purely team standpoint, he should try to appeal and if it can be pushed back, it's probably best, despite the fact that we have to hear about it even longer.

If we were talking about any other player on the team, I'd probably agree with you. However, at least offensively, Marshall is the one guy who can singlehandidly win ball games once he gets the ball in his hands.

It will be interesting to see how this turns out.
