Apparently the blogging torch has been passed from Foxworth to Dumervil. This first entry is a little bland, but it's still a player blog.
Enjoy: No. 92 reporting… ![]() Hello Broncos fans, For those of y’all who don’t know me, I’m Elvis Dumervil. Domonique Foxworth decided it was time to pass the torch, so here I am making my first trip into the blog world. You’ll be able to check out my weekly thoughts and ramblings, to get the player’s perspective, every Wednesday from here on out. I’ll give you a little background info to start with so you can know where I’m coming from. I grew up in Miami, Florida, in Liberty City. It was a tough neighborhood. The only things guys could do was to be on the streets or to play sports. And I came from a football-oriented family. I had a big family, with 13 of us in the household. Sports were the way to get away from the stress around the neighborhood, the danger and all. Playing football was always my dream. I wanted to play receiver, but I ended up playing linebacker and running back throughout my youth. I didn’t really know I would play in the NFL - I was just chasing a dream. As I got to high school, I followed my brothers; they were athletes as well. They played D-end. I saw them go to college and I said, “Well maybe I can get a scholarship and go to college.” I ended up doing that, and I got into college. The first two years were a little shaky with a knee injury. I got through that. Then my junior year I realized I really had a chance to get into the NFL. I knew my senior I had to do something spectacular since I was undersized. When I finally got in the NFL, I still had a chip on my shoulder because I didn’t get drafted as high as I wanted. I took that approach into my first year. Then I wanted to start, and I took that into my second year. Now I want to be a dominant player. That’s what I’m working on now. As far as camp, it’s still a learning process. I’m still rusty in some ways. I’m working on little things I can improve on from last year. It’s a process - a learning curve. You’re going through the soreness of camp and all the plays. Looking at the younger guys now, it’s fun to watch. It’s fun to see how I was in the same position. I want to help the young guys come in and see in their eyes how I was as a rookie. Early on, your head is spinning, learning plays. You go home in a hotel, and you’re not really situated in a new city. You’re nervous and you want to make the team. This year I’ve seen a lot out of the second-year D-line guys, Moss, Crowder and Thomas. There’s a big difference from their rookie years to now. The game is starting to slow down for them. Those guys know what it takes, and they’re working tremendously hard. But it’s a lot different now for me. Now I know what to expect. Now I’m in a position where I don’t worry about what’s going on. I’m just trying to perfect my skills and become a better pro. To be in this locker room, I’m truly blessed. Six days into camp now, we have a lot of positive things. We have a lot of things to still work on, but guys are making strides. They have the energy. They want to do it. Things are going in the right direction. But that wall is going to hit somewhere down the line in camp. It always happens. You can’t run from it. So when it does happen and we do it, we have to bounce back and keep it going. For y’all coming to watch camp, look at how guys are doing their assignments and working hard. We had the best attendance ever for offseason training with 99-percent. We have the commitment here. I want the fans to be excited this year. It’s going to be a great atmosphere at INVESCO Field when we go there. We’re all about the fans. We want to make you happy, and we’re excited. We have a lot of hungry people in here, and it’s a challenge for us. Talk to you next week! |

Shanny has been very happy with how they are performing thus far in camp. You can tell today they are starting to hit that wall and lose their legs. They'll fight through it. Soon Shanny will put them in full pads, that usually gets the guys geeked up... a shot of adrenaline and Shanny has the knack for timing it just right!

I've always liked Elvis. It was clear from day one he had the skills. But, I wish he would have said 'Mile High' instead of 'INVESCO Field'.

I'm very glad and proud to have this man as an employee, and have high hopes for him this season.

I remember when Shanny drafted this guy I was excited, he's gonna be a great player for us. Hopefully these last three years all start to pan out.
