You're absolutely right about the remarkable gift, worm. The donation is coming from my roomie. Completely out of the blue, when I was accepted into the transplant program, she said she wanted to be tested as a possible donor. What were the odds.... but she came back as a compatible match. She's been totally unwavering in her determination and decision to do it. I'll keep asking her, of course, and giving her every possible opportunity to change her mind, right up until they put us both under.

It's all going ahead at light speed now, 7 weeks from tomorrow. Wow.

Regards,
m.

Default Date Postponed

Hi, all --

I'm really, REALLY sorry to have to let you all know that the surgery date has been postponed from tomorrow (Sept.15) to October 27, six weeks from now. My medical team had a major "oops" moment, realizing with one week to go that I needed to discontinue some medications (which I've been using for years, and were not kept in any way secret from them) for 3-4 weeks before surgery. October 27th, six weeks out, was the soonest available date that we could get.

Back to the countdown, and start over... and I do thank you all for your best wishes.

Regards,
m.
