Any here actually go to one recently? My 20 year reunion is this Saturday in Colorado. (Sadly I have not been in the state for 20 years, so it will be interesting to check out the city, and how folks have changed.) Like some perverse time-machine where not only everyone/thing else has aged, but you have as well. Any funny stories out there, words of wisdom or warnings?
I remember thinking when I was 17 that I would be always be tight with those guys, but only last year looked one of them up. So with some trepidation I step into the unknown… |

I skipped my 10 year. Don't really care to go to them either. My few friends from High School that I care about I stay in touch with.

My 20 year is this October and I am going. You will be surprised at people that you never thought of until you see them again. Have fun and make sure you know where the bar is if it is at a hotel. I am looking forward to mine.

I went to my 40th last August in Littleton. Curiosity more than anything, since I never attended any of the others, and wondered what it would be like.
Overall it was strange seeing all those people. The pre reunion gathering at a local bar was better than the actual reunion, because it was more informal, and everybody was looser. I was surprised that a lot of people remembered me at all, since I was always on the side lines in HS, and never in the main stream. I guess I was noticed more than I thought, especially by some of the girls that I was too shy to talk to then. Then again, I was 6'1, 135 lbs back then, and I'm 6'1/2 and 200 now. Not one of the people I hung with back then made it, and somehow that was ok.. The reunion itself, the same cliques and groups that were present in HS reformed themselves and resulted in it being kind of a drag. I took my wife which was torture for her...she didn't attend the same school. Generally the spouses had a bad time. But I didn't want her to feel I was excluding her , and in actuality, I was much more comfortable with her than any of the people I hadn't seen in so long. Finding out that so many of the "popular" people in HS had relatively mundane lives was somehow a a little gratifying... but then so have I. Overall , It was okay, but I won't go again. |

Went to my 10 year. My 20 year is in Sept and I won't be attending.
I'd like to go, but we already have plans for football the weekend before and I just can't make two trips that close together. I'll be down in Tucson over New Years so I'll see a bunch of my old high school friends at that time! ![]() |

Is August a common time for HS reunions in Colorado??
Around here, 98% of reunions happen Thanksgiving weekend. |

My 10 year reunion was great. All those girls that were too cool looked like they were in a hotdog eating contest since graduation. Some people I never expected to show did, and turned out to be very cool. I was real hesitant to go, and wound up having a great time.

its called the "reunion effect". happens all the time. i went to my 35th. was great to see all the "BMOCs" without hair and big paunches. while the cheerleaders all had WAY too many miles on them. (all on their backs it seemed.) hehehehe |

My 10 is next year and I am going to go and try to sell them all pot. Show them all what the guy voted "most likely to succeed" is doing with his life
. Then I will call the cops when they are loaded and run away laughing like a Ninja Turtle on steroids. |

My 20th was supposed to be this year. But we didnt have one. Got my liposuction, botox, doctored photos of myself performing great deeds, and a false bank account report all done up for nothing...
