Default OT: Window Blinds Question

Okay, I have a question, for those of you adept at interior decorating.

I bought wood blinds for a room that has deep window casings. For the windows in question, the window sill is about 12-inches deep (in other words, the window sits 12 inches back from the wall).

So, do you suppose I should install the blinds flush with the wall, or right up against the window? Flush with the wall would mean the blinds sit about nine inches from the window. Against the window would mean the blinds sit nine inches from the wall.

Make sense?

I just wouldn't reach all they way in to lower the blinds, or raise the blinds. They would end up staying one way or the other forever

If they keep tapping the windows is their a chance at scratching the window? If so, then go with the wall approach

When the air kicks on and you haven't installed them flush you will regret it. Those things will click and clack all night ling. I say up flush as I don't think I have ever seen blinds in line with the walls.

Yeah. Her opinion is that they should be against the window. But these are for my office, which is where I spend 10-12 hours a day. Inside the window seems like it makes sense, but I don't want to mess it up and have it bug me for 10-12 hours a day. What rug said about keeping them down all day makes sense - although I kind of like them down, anyway (I'm a hermit, for the most part). I really wanted to do shutters; but with the way the windows are positioned in the room, an open shutter would block access to the closet door.

Do an Elvis Tin Foil job on the windows so no one sees you popping goofballs all day while you peep on the women changing into their hot pants.

You're the one soliciting interior decorating advice on the Mane.

Are you freaking kidding. With the kind of cash this Dom fella pulls down he prolly has a remote control to operate his blinds; a hot maid at the very least.

Hotrod's right. I wouldn't pull my own blinds. Unfortunately, the woman I hired to do it runs from the room crying every time I ask her. I still can't figure out what in the hell she thinks I'm saying.
