Ouch, I wonder if Baron Davis still signs that deal today with the Clipps?

I'm not going to complain about an All Star F leaving the West. I wonder how Brand fits in in Philly though as they were having their most success with Dre, Iggy & Co. running the floor? Brand's not much of a runner, but he's a big upgrade over Reggie Evans - who the Nugz should've kept by the way.

Brand fits into the PF spot nicely.
This allows Young to slide down to SF and Igoudala bacl to his SG spot and Miller still at point.

that will be a nice teacm next year for sure.

as a Sixers fan I LOVE it...however our TRUE achilles heal was that after we traded Korver, we did not have any spot up shooters. We still lack a consistent perimeter threat. Iggy is streaky and more of a slasher as Detroit showed in the playoffs this year........

Ya think? Most underrated player in the league ... perhaps in all pro sports. Brand is a sane Artest, a consistent Pierce, a law-abiding Wallace. For each of the past eight years, even through the achilles, he was at worst 3rd team All-NBA.

broncofan7, I never understood that Korver deal ... how did Utah get him for a song like that?

That is a nice lineup, they should be very competitive now. Young will flourish with less muscle defending him.

It was a salary dump to make room for opportunities like the signing of Brand I believe.......Suprisingly enough, Cheeks changed the style of play to a higher tempo and we actually had a better record without him--but as PHX can atest that doesn't bode well come playoff time

At first I was really torqued off the Nuggets didn't get Korver (and the Jazz picked him up for a song). But then after the trade deadline, J.R. Smith starting really, really playing well. In the long run he might be better than similar players like Korver or Mike Miller (whom I also coveted). He's much younger than either, and if he can shake that thug attitude, he could be amazing.

I dunno if both he and Kleiza will last in Denver for long ... both young and streaky swingman scorers, plus we drafted the same kinda guy in Sonny Weems. We'd probably be better off with a swingman defensive-specialist off the bench, a Stacey Augman-type. We gotta do something, I'm not optimistic right now....

No kidding ... unselfish and defensive-minded, like a sane Ron Artest. And the worst part is Brand is prolly making less than K-Mart

When does K-Mart's contract expire for heaven's sake? Kiki sign him for 10 years, or what?

With AI coming to Denver I obviously paid a little more attention to Nuggest games on my league pass--they certainly are exciting to watch but they did seem to lack a little on the defensive end.......

Nuggets need to drop Melo like a bad habit, and try to get 75 cents on the dollar for him....wait for K-Mart's deal to expire and try to compete in the meantime....

see, I thought a guy like Corey Maggette could slide to Denver....whoever loses out on the Bron Bron lottery will be looking to score someone big (aka Melo)...thats the opportunity to get some value back...Melo for David Lee, Nate Robinson and Balkman

Ehhh, I think Melo is here to stay.

And you really think Bron-Bron is gonna bolt Cleveland? I'm doubting such a thing could ever happen in David Stern's world. Although .... he did rig a couple draft lotteries (before anyone objects, I have inside information that ESPN offered to videotape the lottery drawings backstage - both the Ewing and the other one - and then hold the videotape until after the announcement, but Stern said no. Marking the first time David Stern ever said no to any camera.)

Dude, Melo has a lot more value than a pile of crap, which is what you just proposed we trade him for. If we made that trade, Denver would be back to 35 wins a year. Is that really what you want?
