Adopt-a-Bronco:
VP John Elway
Default TD on the 2008 Broncos

* Likes Selvin Young. Likes the way in runs for the ball. Selvin has adjusting to do with running tougher. Has good balance, vision and break away speed. Bobby Turner will get him running the right direction. With Michael Pittman or Andre Hall, Young doesn't have to carry the ball 25 times a game.

* Brandon Marshall has to get his head on straight. He can't do the same things he did in college. He has a chance to be the #1 WR in the NFL, but he can screw them up by doing things off the field. Hopefully he learned through his mistakes and the light has come on.

* Likes Jay Cutler, always has. Understood why Shanny went with Cutler over Plummer. He's working towards being a superstar, people need to recognize he's a young guy. When you watch him, you see he'll make mistakes but he's a great product the Broncos have.

* Sees the Broncos as a bubble team. The defense needs to become stronger. They need a solid foundation on defense because that's what carries you in the NFL. The offense will be good just have to get better in the red zone. If they get confident they could make a run. Sees them as a wild card team at best now but he needs to see more of them.

* If the HOF happens, that'd be great. But he understands that he didn't play 15-20 years. Understands where people come from and he's honored just making the top 25 cut. He doesn't think it'll happen until he's 50 or 60 if at all.

finally a report on the Broncos by someone who knows football and understands the team and what he sees.

and if he had played on the east coast he would have been a 1st ballot HOF. this man who carried us to the promised land not once but twice is a Hall of Famer in all Broncos fans minds and hearts. SCREW CANTON!!!

The man was a Hall of Famer for his unfortunately short career, he has my vote. But I imagine it will have to be as a legacy induction well into the future as he suggests. If we only get 3 Hall of Famers (Sharpe, Elway, Zimmerman) from those two Super Bowl Team its going to be bullsh*t. Hopefully Bowlen and Shanny punch their well-earned tickets into Canton also.

TD is well liked by others in the media so he has a good chance to get in.

It would be nice to see him get in but players play this game for money and rings. He's got both so he's not complaining. HOF is indeed an honor but if I had to choose between winning superbowls or getting elected into the HOF, I'll take the jewelry.

It's true, the fact TD is on NFL Network helps him in a great way. If he REALLY wanted to get into the HOF, he'd need to land a spot on ESPN.

I'd say sticking with NFLN is as good if not better a choice than ESPN. A lot of national media aren't big proponents of ESPN while the NFLN is obviously going to be significant proponents of adding another HOF'er to their broadcast crew.

The media benefits are pretty extreme though. Tom Jackson was a damn good player but a HOF? No way, and he's gotten some significant consideration.

My favorite part of this is that he was willing to admit that he needs to to more of the team to make an accurate analysis. That's honesty you won't get from many media sources

Your statements are certainly true in terms of the national media being proponents of ESPN. With that ESPN reaches so many more households than the NFL Network it would simply get his name back out in the world. I remember reading an article about Cris Carter joining ESPN when, in not so many words, he admitted a large reason that he came on board was because he was disappointed about missing out on the HOF and wanted to improve his chances.

I realize it's true. That's why I die a little. Your career should stand on it's own merits, not wether you played on the east coast or are chummy with the voters. It's a racket.
