...and to nobody's surprise, Denver is one of those teams.
I love this quote BTW (I'm such a sucker for a Chad Johnson slam): Quote:

If you had told me two years ago that San Diego would be making any "best cornerbacks" lists in the near future, I would have laughed in your face.

Cromartie built his season off a single horrible game by Manning. If it wasn't for that he doesn't get nearly the pub. And Jammer really is just league average. Cromartie could be special, but a single awesome game doesn't make him special. |

Cromartie had one amazing game and several big plays. 10 picks is nothing to sniff at, but those who watch the coverage every down can see that Bailey is clearly, CLEARLY better and more consistent. That's what he needs to work on, is his consistency.
What bothers me more about the comparison in the article is saying that Cromartie is only a few steps away from Bailey. Even when recognized as "The Best", Bailey is vastly underrated. |

werd, it would be nice if people look for any sort of consistency for rating people as high as they do. people saying AP is all sorts of amazing is still funny to me, he had a great year but lets see him do it a few more times, then ill be sold.

Michael Huff has been a big disappointment. I think even counting the safeties the Fade are a far cry from number 1.
I'll say it again, every draft class of Oakland's has been garbage. I said it last year when everyone was yammering about what a wonderful draft they had and it's bust all the way for them. I don't like their selections this year either. Al Davis doesn't know how to draft football players. He drafts athletes. |

His talent is on a level apparent enough to everyone that it's fair to say he's amazing. I'm not sure if the same sort of analysis on consistency works when comparing someone like AP to Cromartie, though, based on the positions they play.

Didn't Cromartie also take a FG back for TD......I bet that is feeding the hype too.
Sic athlete, no Champ. |

I thought it was a great pick. When the raiders reached for him, Denver moved up one spot in the draft. Between them, the Raiders and Detroit made it possible for us to get Cutler.

When you compare the Packers and Chargers pass rush/front 7 to the Broncos, Champ and Dre would win this thing hands down. Lot more difficult to cover receivers when all we had was Elvis last year never mind the fact both of them had one eye on the RB every down.

What really cracks me up is that all these people believe the "Athlete Formerly Known as Pacman" is a great corner. He was a good return man, but I don't remember him being great as a corner. Average at best.

Well, AP for the most part looks to be the part. But a lot of players get hyped up and when you talk media, its mostly espins fault. This network and its analysts jump on and off teams all season. The Vince young infatuation is another example. And then you see how the 3 QBs are ranked in Madden, in this order: Young, Cutler, Leinart. That is a ****in joke too, and everyone knows it. |

Well, Madden's ratings are screwed up to begin with.
I do agree that I think its funny how when the media hypes someone up, then all of a sudden they can become complete studs when they aren't near that ability yet. I hate the hype Deangelo Hall got, the hype Reggie Bush got, the hype Vince Young gets, the hype Cromartie gets and of course, many other players too. And Pacman, I remember people saying he was a solid/decent CB, but nothing extraordinary. Someone you would like to have, but not an All Pro CB. Now he is a Cowboy, he's getting hyped up. |
