Nice job piecing that together. I think finding 9 guys to axe won't be all that difficult, 7 after you pick your kickers.

Shanahan said in the interview I posted he'll probably cut one punter before camp. I'm guessing the first cuts will be done proportionately so that they can still have three complete units to start camp with.

This is probably a dumb question but.... If we put some people on practice squads and some team tries and picks them up. Do we have a chance to match the offer, or is practice squad members just fair game for other teams to pluck off the roster?

For a player to be on the PS, he must 1st clear waivers - meaning any team has a chance to pick him up. If you try to waive a player, and another team puts in a claim, you can keep him but must add him immediately to the 53 man roster and release someone else. If a player on your PS has a claim put in to be picked up, you also can keep the player but again must immediately sign him to the 53 man roster. This happened with Wesley Duke a few years ago.

Polumbus will make camp I would be suprised if Carrington made it I am so freaking excited for camp to start it is by far the best thing in the world untill about week 3 then I am ready for some football already.

Shanny's probably going to keep both kickers until the last cut of the preseason, and he usually likes to keep 4 QB's through the first few weeks of camp. Other than that, it seems reasonable - going to camp with only 80 guys is a big difference from prior years.

I really like the way the offense if shaping up. That offense is much improved from last year, considering the O-line is now healthy, addition of Clady, and the addition-by-subtraction via releasing Henry and Walker

Pretty good.

I don't think Martinez will make the roster.
Ekuban will start (maybe at DT).
Mallard was a manimal last year. He will beat Harris.
The Thomas / McKinley battle will be interesting.
I am still worried about D-Rob making it through TC also. I have no idea what his practice history was with the Jets, so i'll just remain "cautiously optimistic."

I think Bell gets cut. The coaches are already noticing Hillis, and they could put Torrain or Pittman to lead block if necessary. Cecil came to camp ready. I just have a bad feeling for Mike.

We're going to have a hell of a practice squad this year. They ought to have a halftime league where practice squads play each other.

I wonder if we could move Bell for a late round pick. You'd think the Bears, for one, might have some interest.
