I'm rarely in the "bring him in" crowd, but this is a high character guy that's not particularly old that was one of the best offensive interior linemen in the game a couple short seasons ago. The injury will keep his price down.

Let me be the first to say, "Bring him in"

That's a sad, sad story. Maybe the best center in the league a couple years ago, he comes home to where he was born and raised - to the renaissance that the 2006 Browns were supposed to be, and he destroys his knee in mini-camp.

Sad.

First play of practice, wasn't it? Then a staph infection last year.

We have a need at center to bridge the gap between Nalen and Lichtensteiger (without moving Hamilton out of LG). He just passed his physical yesterday, too.

I hesitantly agree and say bring him in.

What's sadder is he's a Browns fan and his knee was injured in the first play. Then after surgery he became the next in a long list of Browns that suffer staph infections. The infection ruined the knee even further and more surgery was needed. My suspicion is he's probably done.

I *just* read an article this morning about his comeback and how he said "no doubt" he would be ready to go (at least as a backup) in 08. wtf?

He is ready to go. He asked Phil Savage for a release so he can play again because Cleveland feels they have their line locked up.

I hope for his sake that's true. They had given him a lot of money so maybe it was a cap thing as well.

They had restructured and he only had a year left, too

"LeCharles came back to Cleveland to be in integral part of the Cleveland Browns, his hometown team,'' said Feinsod. "Through no fault of the Browns at all, they didn't know if LeCharles was going to come back or not and they moved on with their plans.
"But this is not the same team LeCharles signed with. They have commitments to other players. LeCharles is not ready to be an insurance policy at this point.''

Denver's not ready for him to be an insurance policy either! I would love this guy on this team.

Sure, bring him in. I doubt he'd sign here, as he probably wants a starting job at C.

Dude's just coming off a horrific injury and just because he passed his physical does not mean he's able to take the rigors of a training camp, let alone a season. I pass on this guy.

Yeah, because if he'd be healthy, he upgrades the line a HUGE level for another 5+ years, but it'd be awful to miss on him because we'd end up exactly where we're at right now.

Like someone said, he wants to be a starter. He won't be here with Nalen's last year, so it likely doesn't matter anyway.

He can play guard as well, and who knows how Hamilton will react when he starts getting knocked around.

If he truly is a big Browns fan why would he want to play for the Broncos?

When healthy, LeCharles is flat out nasty. If he passes a physical, sign him yesterday.

This guy really was the best center in football not so long ago. I don't think he'd have a problem coming in here knowing that he can play at at least 3 of the 5 O-line spots at least as a backup, and the chances of this being Nalen last year are high.

I don't think it'd be that hard to convince him that he'd have a good shot, and even if he doesn't win a job outright he'd get the chance to show he's healthy and start the next year.

Also, anyone expecting Hamilton and Nalen to each play full, healthy seasons got to be crazy.

Let's not forget how huge of an upgrade he would be over Montrae Holland if we were to bring him in and Hamilton and Nails were both going strong. No disrespect to Holland, but Bentley is freakin awesome.

I think hamilton would sit before holland. Hamilton is a midget.

Seriously though, does anyone know who the starting center is in cleveland?
