Default SportingNews AFCW Offseason Report Card

B - Oakland Raiders. Cornerback DeAngelo Hall, wide receiver Javon Walker and strong safety Gibril Wilson look like nice pickups -- and Darren McFadden, already signed by the team, was the top running back in the draft. Asking former 49er Kwame Harris to play left tackle and protect second-year quarterback JaMarcus Russell's blind side is risky.

B-minus - Kansas City Chiefs. Players moved in and out of K.C. at warp speed. The Chiefs may not get big results this year, but they set themselves up for the future with a boffo draft. Trading defensive end Jared Allen will hurt in the short term.

C-plus - Denver Broncos. Denver supplemented its roster with several middle-tier free agents but no difference-makers. First-round pick Ryan Clady is expected to replace the retired Matt Lepsis at left tackle.

C-minus - San Diego Chargers. They fortified their depth on the offensive line and secondary, but they lost more than they gained in free agency. They will miss backup running back Michael Turner and cornerback Drayton Florence.

Clady replacing Lepsis should already make it an A!! Lepis played like crap last year. Also Niko and boss are better then Gold by a lot! And with Young running for 2,000 we should be fine

I think Jackson could be a difference maker. Maybe our pick ups won't stand out but I could see Jackson having the same impact on our O as Stokley did last year.

Once again, Raiders win it on paper! They better win it with this young QB, because I like to see what money is left after this season. They got some talent (Raiders) in the offseason, but the price they paid for it is not an A. OverpAy is more like it. He it worked for Dan Snyder his first two years as an owner..... Ahhh, wait a minute. I take that back.

Pretty simple analysis for the sporting news. They should at least acknowledge where the "difference makers" got us last year.

Yeah! Um..... OK. We'll decide who the difference makers are when we see the players on the field. Oh and not that it really matters, but Ryan Clady is expected to replace the retired Matt Lepsis at left tackle. **** sporting news.

Why torture yourselves over these idiotic pieces. These outfits have to write something and fill the pages up with print between the ads. That's the American Way, doncha know?

It would be nice to see the TCs before all sorts of idiocy ensues.....

So the Raiders pay out 100 mil in guaranteed money for a 6-10 season and they get an B? Um ok, I'd give that an F, but that's just me.
