Default illinois school cancels christmas/easter to not offend muslims

http://www.postchronicle.com/comment...12144362.shtml

"Oak Lawn, Illinois, school kids are going to have to do without Halloween, Christmas and Easter activities thanks to the sensitive bureaucrats who fear offending Muslims. The schools' administrators claim they've received a number complaints that the activities are offensive, particularly to Muslim students."

the religion of peace honors and appreciates all religions. so long as its islam.

If the "separation of church and state" is as inviolate as the Left wants us to believe, all government employees should not be allowed to have time off for Christmas or Thanksgiving. Read the label: Christmas. Thanksgiving (what are you giving thanks to, if not a religious entity?). Those are religious holidays and so, therefore, people who work for the government - which the Left argues should not favor any religion - should not be allowed to have those days off, particularly as PAID time off.

If we have to put up with religion, let's not ruin the one good thing the wretched institution has given us--paid vacation a few times a year. It's the literally the least they can do.

The way I see it, though, those holidays are more about American tradition now than religion. I celebrate Easter and Christmas though I consider myself an atheist. I don't partake in the religious aspects of the holidays, I just see them as the American celebrations of the seasons. Pretty much every civilization has or had celebrations for each season. We're no different, but we like to hide it behind a veil of religious obscurity.

And Thanksgiving has nothing to do with religion. Seriously, that's reaching.
