Default Speed kills

It looks like we have some very fast people on this broncos squad now, Anthony Aldridge, Jack Williams, Eddie Royal, Sammie Parker and Josh Barrett are so fast it is sick. I hope these guys can really come on, if so, their speed will kill, especially Aldridge, I've seen him play several times and he's the fastest player I've ever seen.

I agree. This is a very fast draft. You could even add Clady to that list.

I was just thinking about this, Denver has compiled quite the collection of speed. I think for the most part these guys will make major contributions to the special teams immediatly. If the kicking game is even solid next year, I think we will see major improvements in this unit. Good special teams would go pretty far in swinging some games in our direction.

I just knew Aldridge was going to get drafted, but I guess everyone got scared of his size. This guy is going to make our offense sick!!! He's that slot guy and third down guy that we've needed for so long, and to get him as an undrafted rookie is mind boggling. In watching some Cougar games the last couple of years, I would constantly say to myself "man, this Aldridge guy would do wonders in the Broncos offense with that sick speed." Oh well, I guess we'll see.

He's the same size as Desean Jackson. Granted, i didnt know about him until the broncos signed him, but watching that youtube clip and looking at his stats (and reading about him), how the hell was this guy not drafted?

sorry 170 vs. 185. 15 lb's is no joke. these is not the average persons 15 lb's were as much 20% is fat. its profootball 15 lb's were its as little 10% - 8% fat.

True, we got speed. But I also think we got tougher...which I think is something this team almost needed even more. From the top down, these guys are tough, hard-nose football players. Clady, Korey, Larsen, Hilis are obvious, but also Royal, Williams, and Torain are real tough little guys too!

I'm more excited for our special teams next year than anything...coverage units should improve dramatically.

If Ryan Torain succeeds its purely because of the system and not because he's anything great.

easy, big guy... deep breath.

NOTHING to do with his own talent?!? I can understand not liking him, thinking he was a reach, thinking he'll never be more than average....but come on, give him some respect. he's gotten this far.

AND WHAT THE HELL MAKES YOU MORE QUALIFIED TO JUDGE A RUNNING BACK THAN BOBBY TURNER AND MIKE SHANAHAN?!?!?!

Its true. Slow plodders are a dime a dozen and can be had later than the 5th.

I think you will find that he can move on the field. Look, I'm not going to sit here and stick out my neck saying this is Denver's next RB, but you can't possibly have seen enough tape on this guy to have an informed opinion.

No, it just reaffirms its the system. It doesnt mean he's great or that it was a good pick.

Wow lex the perfect argument. If he sucks you are right. If he is great it is the system. Either way you are a whiny, tool, cry baby.

If Torain succeeds, it doesn't mean he was a good pick?

You REALLY need to reevaluate how you judge what makes a good pick.

i'm still waiting lex.....if you can find time to get off your high horse, I'd love to know; who are you to question Shanahan and Turner?

Have you really watched as much tape as I'm guessing the Denver scouts have watched? If you have, respect...but I doubt anyone not getting payed to do it has that kind of time.

It's not all about 40 times...plus he ran that time on a lisfranc injury...that takes a solid year to heal, maybe two. I actually look for them to stick him on IR for a year, make sure he's 100% and save a roster spot for a season.

Dang, the more I read about Josh Barrett, the more excited I get. Clocked at 4.35 at the combine. Dude tops 220 lbs. A guy that size with that kind of speed is just a total freak. Excellent tackler. Intelligent. No apparent off- the-field issues at all.

... if he can just stay healthy ...
