Default The Official Draft Caleb Campbell Thread

Do it. This would be a great story and great PR for the Broncos; we would also get a good player at a position of need (S). At the very least he could be a solid back-up S and a productive ST player. This kid is looking at going to the NFL or going to Baghdad. Let's change this guy's life for the better.

CALEB CAMPBELL, S ARMY

Height: 6-13/4 | Weight: 229 | 40-Time: 4.60

Strengths:
Outstanding size and bulk...A reliable tackler who can deliver the big hit...Physical and aggressive...Does an excellent job against the run...Has good instincts...Very strong...Versatile...A hard worker...Team leader with elite intangibles...Productive.

Weaknesses:
Average athleticism...Lacks fluid hips to transition...Poor change of direction..Does not play as fast as he times..Might be a bit of a 'tweener...Range is limited and he struggles to match up in coverage..May have some health and durability concerns.

Notes:
Would not have to fulfill his service commitment in the traditional sense if he made an NFL roster...Older brother, Jacob, has been professional bull-rider and younger brother, Jeremy, was a high school quarterback despite having a prosthetic leg...A very good player and the best pro prospect Army has had in many years...Tore his ACL in 2006..Has a great mix of triangle numbers and intangibles...Developmental type who's underrated and could at least be a quality backup and special teamer.

Hell no.

Forget the PR side of it... The guy signed to play at Army full well knowing the terms of his signing. This guy will not be drafted and if someone takes a chance as a UDFA he will be fodder that does not make the end of training camp.

If you want to feel good, become a big brother or adopt a pet. This is NFL football, take the best players available.
