Not as long as of an analysis as I like; but it's that time of the year and I thought with some of the news coming out that I'd give it a shot.
Hope you all enjoy. Feel free to piss on it. ENJOY IT. |

I'd really like that. Albert would make anything look good to me.
Kevin Robinson is a great value selection. Goff is a good choice too. Powell is probably gone by the end of the fourth. Zenon will develop into a more physical but slower Foxworth. Not too shabby! |

I liked the Goff pick. I think it was kind of high to take Kevin Robinson. If youre going to look at someone like that, theres also Mikey Henderson later.
I dont think Hardy will be there at 42. Im not a big fan of the running back in the middle rounds...its half-pregnant. |

That looks good to me. Without trading down, I'm not sure we can do better than that through the first 4 rounds.

i really like that draft - would prefer a DT in round 2 tho, but he's right the Marshall incident makes WR more of a concern
even better scenario is that Robertson gets cut and we just sign him then take Owen Schmidt with #139 Last edited by Triplelefthook; 04-11-2008 at 05:31 PM.. |

I thought I would be the first to piss on the thread...
No, I would change a few things, but this would be a very solid draft. I will be ecstatic if the first day doesn't include the name "Desean" or "Jackson." I'd sure be happy with Albert. |

Thats an awesome Mock Draft!!! I wish you were the man doing the selecting!
Replace Zenon with Durant Brooks P/Georia Tech and I'd be smiling all month with that. |

I love the Albert, Goff, and Robinson picks, and I'm all for giving up one of the day 2 picks to acquire Robertson. There are WRs I would rather take in the 2nd, and there are far greater needs than RB to be addressed at #119. Overall, I wouldn't be disappointed with that haul though.

I love the first 4 selections but dont care for the rest of it as i think we could do a hell of a lot better. Oh, and Choice is from Georgia Tech not Virginia Tech.

Typo with Choice, and I'm not really sure how much better you can get after the first four picks.
Ambiguity in value. I'm willing to bet we'll get a kicker, a returner and probably some secondary help. Just my gut instinct. I thought the value was fair at all positions. Who would you change the last picks to? |

Depends on who was available really. When i did mine i was basing it off a particular mock and going by that. But they had only gone through the first 5 rounds so i wasnt able to see who was available after that round. But, you didnt address FB which i think needs to be addressed. I think you took a K way too high. Im not crazy about getting Robertson at all and would much rather pass on that and keep the pick. And the DB late i think is a waste when we could still use Safety help. I know we signed McCree but he isnt the total answer back there. And although i like Hardy i do question his character which has come up so im not sure if he would be the answer either. But just basing off "potential" talent i was ok with it. |

sorry Req, hated it and you suck. just kidding, you don't suck but I wasn't a huge fan of the mock.
Albert: I'm never a big fan of taking a guy whose stock climbs due to the combine, but even moreso for an offensive lineman. I don't watch much college ball, so I'm not commenting specifically on Albert necessarily, but I don't want to use #12 on a guy who climbed that high with the pads off and isn't a true tackle. #42 HAS to be a DT imo. even if we get Robertson, we still need to draft the biggest, baddest, and bestest DT avaiable. Robertson is not a long term solution (anything over 2 years would have to be considered a bonus), but he would make a great bridge to the future. Draft a DT at 42 and give him and Thomas a couple years to learn the pro game in a rotation with Robertson. I do agree that we need a WR somewhere, but not here. if we can pick up an extra pick in round 2-3, then that's great. But we don't need a big, slower reciever. between Marshall, Scheffler, and Graham (plus backs), the underneath is already pretty crowded. if we take a WR early, he better be able to stretch the field and return punts with a passion. I much prefer taking a speedster in the 4th who can return kicks and punts. I don't think Shanny can go into this draft with a doom and gloom attitude about Marshall. Marshall should be ready by camp, health wise, and we have good recieving options at TE and RB. I don't see a rookie #2 WR coming in and being any sort of saviour next season, so I don't agree with taking one in round 1-2 unless we add another pick. and if Marshall flakes out, well I feel WR is one of the easiest positions to fill. as for the rest, sure okay. the LB looked good, as did the return specialist. not the kicker I would have taken, and I feel we should take a punter. I agree that we'll probably take a RB at some point (wouldn't be shocked if it is in round 1, especially if we trade back). all in all, not the way I'd go, but the betting man should take your advice over mine. |
