I'm coming out your way!! (Hold the jokes...
)Seriously, though. I've talked with one or two on here already and I'm wondering if there's an interest in having a get together at a local bar/pub/wherever. I'll be attending a couple of Mets games at Shea and maybe catch a hockey game (that one's up in the air). So, if anyone's interested, that's always an option, too. We'll be staying in middle eastside Manhattan and we are cabbing or taking the subway everywhere, so no rental car. And, any suggestions on great places to eat/drink/dance/play that are not the normal touristy spots, would be greatly appreciated, too. So, if there's an interest in meeting up for a little OM get together on the east coast, post away or send me a pm! The dates I'll be there are April 9th to the 13th. |

Ill you are going to see the Brewers
There is so much to do I would just wait till I got there and pick up a village voice. That will tell you everything going on in the city those nights. Everything is always open real late also. There are lots of clubs and dress codes can be a pain sometimes, so be prepared. Bars won't give you much of a problem.Last edited by rbackfactory80; 03-26-2008 at 04:53 PM.. |

Yes, we'll see the Mets play the Phillies and the Brewers. We'll see the Red Sox play Detroit, too. |

If you want to go to the oldest pizzeria in America that serves what I and many others believe to be the best brick oven pizza in the world go to Lombardi's on Spring st. It is featured on best pizza on discovery channel, I have been going there since I was a little kid. Right down the street is a hip little bar I sometimes find myself at that is very warm and not a thug in sight. That would be the Spring Lounge. Cool bar to hang out at. If you like deli go to Katzs, or Carnegie. Deli is a must in NY.

I recommend you spend time downtown...that's where people under 30 generally live and where many of the creative industries are located.
I live in the East Village. It's a great neighbourhood to eat in...I can recommend spots depending on the desired cuisine. Also check out the West Village (beautiful buildings) and Soho (shopping). |

I heard the pod hotel is awesome let me know how it is.
If you want to get some cool clothes try the vintage stores in the East Village... Tokyo 7 on 7th between 1st and 2nd and Rue B on 11th and Avenue B. Also good places to eat... Public in Nolita, The Mermaid Inn in the East Village, La Esquina in Soho (not up top...there's a hidden restaurant downstairs through the kitchen). Dunno...just throwing things out. Enjoy yourself. |
