Earlier this Re-Loading season, MileHighReport.com ran a 4-part series, breaking down the importance of John Lynch. Now another Bronco that is squarely in the middle of roster controversy gets the spotlight.
Check out Part 1 of the series breaking down D.J., the different positions he plays and what it all means to the Broncos.... http://www.milehighreport.com/story/.../7/213358/4932 |

Pretty sure he was 2nd in DROY voting and not 3rd...

Willimans was Third in NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year (Associated Press) voting behind former college teammate Jonathan Vilma (LB-Jets) and Dunta Robinson (CB-Texans).

If he plays WILL this year, I really think he has a good chance to make the pro bowl.

Had DJ been left alone, he'd be the best WILL in the league by now.

DJ had a whole 4 more solo tackles; but Vilma had 2 more INTs.....they both had 2 sacks that year. If all else is equal (as it was) the guy with more INTs will always have the edge in voting. DJ really didn't get jobbed. |

Nice article - very insightful and methodical, and the description of the responsibilities of a weak-side linebacker was interesting.....

Denver never locks up good players so he will be gone when his contract runs out. Wouldn't be surprised if Marshall got loose too.

Who's been good that we haven't locked up? I can't think of many players we sent packing who went on to greatness over the last decade or so. In fact, I'm not sure I can think of any.
Now, you might be more on target to say that we don't sign/develop enough talented players. Again, I'll also remind people that DJ Williams is a legend on this message board, and absolutely nowhere else. I do think the move outside will help him. The less thinking he has to do, the better. Moving him inside was a ridiculous idea to begin with. |
