Default Obama's Senior Foreign Policy Advisor Steps in It

Calls Clinton a "monster" and is forced to quit. She also states that Obama's promise to get out of Iraq is just that, a campaign promise. It may not be realistic.

Power's comments about Iraq came in an interview with the BBC. She said Obama's position is that withdrawing all U.S. troops within 16 months is a "best-case scenario" that he will revisit if he becomes president.

I wonder if the Obamatrons have the capacity to pick up on that flip flop through the fog of worship?

I thought Obama was the guy who was going to get us out of Iraq? Whoops.

A better thing to say is I want to bring troops home asap. Honestly though without the intell and meeting with generals only a President can have I don't have all the information I would need to tell you all what a withdraw would entail and how long it might take. Giving timetables when you have no imput from generals is just crazy talk.

I don't see why would just give up in Iraq when things seem to be going better. I'd rather hear Obama say he has a plan to make Iraq stable and get the oil flowing better. To me just saying I will pull out is pandering to antiwar sentiment and not what is best for the country in the long run.

Sounds to me like a job for the UN, not the U.S. What the people of this country need is a paradigm shift. We've been so conditioned to think of ourselves as the policeman of the world that we don't even question it. While our infrastructure crumbles and our economy goes in the tank, while college education disappears for more and more Americans and our schools fall apart, while more of our jobs leave our shores, other countries get stronger. We flush our wealth down the Iraq toilet, month after month after month, and spend our wealth to protect the world's oil supply while Exxon rolls in profit. What's wrong with this picture?

I don't see how it's contradictory at all. During the last debate he said if Al-
Qaeda reformed camps in Iraq, he would use his authority to go back in there to destroy them. Clinton said she wouldn't answer the question.

As they say, once you drive the bus in the ditch, there are only so many ways to get out of it. I think it's kinda common sense here that there will be ups and downs and we don't know what the field will look like a year from now.

Honestly, Clinton's campaign has become so disgusting. There is no possible path for her to get the nomination, but she's willing to take Obama, the Democratic Party, and the country down with her by playing the lowest common denominator on every issue. There is no surprise why the educated support Obama, while those that only might catch a headline support Clinton. Thomas Jefferson would be ashamed. Everyone who believes you should put the country before yourself should be ashamed.

This campaign is like a pillow fight. You think Jefferson would be ashamed? You don't know much about Jefferson. Read up on his campaign against Adams. One of the dirtiest in American history, and Old Tom was in it up to his eyeballs, paying off partisan newspapers to slander John Adams.

Not unless you're implying Obama is secretly Samantha Power. Power said an off-hand remark, that she tried to keep private, and was forced to resign in 24 hrs. The three I mentioned said for worse comments, in public, and Clinton was able to stand by all of them without much backlash. Heck, Wolfson's comment yesterday was worse, and he's one of the top 3 dogs on her campaign.

Yes, Power has those, Obama doesn't.

Clinton also does, that's why she can say 'vote for me, i'm a woman'. What you think would happen if Obama said 'vote for me, i'm black'.

It was referencing the founding father of the Democratic Party saying 'one vote is worth a hundred, if that's the difference', and how there's no path for Clinton to achieve as much.

Btw, I just completely butchered his quote.

I must've misread the title of his thread? Eh?

Besides, Clinton stood behind the comments of all three. Answer this honestly, what do you think would happen if someone opened up an Obama speech with comments similiar to Buffenbargers' about Clinton? And if Obama stood by them?

Yes, going after that famous Ohio black vote, the state where 15% of Ohioian democrats said they wouldn't vote for a black candidate. In reality, the comment is to emphasize ''hope'' and the ''american dream''.
