An old interview with him at Seahawks headquarters:
http://www.seahawks.com/media/hawks1236.asx He at least seems like a high character guy which is a welcome change. Last edited by Popcorn Sutton; 03-03-2008 at 10:11 AM.. |

Good special teamer and depth, hopefully we'll get more from him than our last Seattle LB, the hardly seen DD Lewis. Assuming the Broncos wrap up Boss on Wednesday, we're likely set at LB until the draft with DJ, Winborn, Boss, Niko, Webster and Green.

After sitting on it for a while, I think I like this signing.

eh....i don't know what to think yet. The Post says he will most likely compete for the MLB job if/when we move DJ back to WLB.

People are going to like this guy. He's a legitimate special teams demon. He's also good enough to start for some teams as a Mike, but Lofa Tatupu owns the middle in Seattle.

I am all for the ST help. I guess this means DJ does move back outside? If so, unleash him then.

so is this the upgrade over Gold? Or is he really expected to take over DJs spot in the middle? |

Not necessarily. Think more along the lines of the Winborn signing. A guy who can make an immediate impact on special teams and may compete for a spot on defense.

people may laugh at the signing but i like the approach Denver is taking...
bargain basement FAs... they'll come over achieve... we don't need a star at every posotion... one stud at each level of the defense (seconadary,LB,Dline) surrounded by overachieving role players in a good system = success IMO... same on offense... i'm willing to be patient to see how this plays out... this reminds me of how we did things in the 96,97,98... |

I agree. I like this better than making headlines with the flavor of the moment.

If this guy starts then it means he beat everybody else in training camp...
that's not always a bad thing... i bet people thought we were in "BIG BIG trouble" when an undrafted WR beat out all our vets for a starting spot...(Rod Smith) i bet people thought we were in "BIG BIG trouble" when a 6th round draft choice beat out our vets for a starting RB spot...(Terrell Davis) so instead of making assumptions...lets just wait and see what happens... |

Niko is a quality player. Is he Lance Briggs on the field? No, but he is not a bum. He has been behind one of the better MLB's in Lofa Tatupu... Give the guy a chance to prove himself... Let's see how it plays out before you start calling the guy a bum. Damn.

I saw a homeless person on the weekend fumbling around on the ground because he dropped his crack rocks, i also believe he was sitting next to a puddle of piss. That guy was an upgrade over gold.
