Good news. Ekuban can mentor the young DE's one more year while providing solid contributions, and 'berger makes a good rotational guy; he won't be starting this year.

I'm glad Ekuban will be back. Hopefully he can stay healthy and help us out on the inside of the DL. He was effective inside as a rotational guy two years ago, and I think he could be nice inside option on passing downs. Engelberger is a good depth guy, but I think Crowder has the potential to move past him on the depth chart as soon as next season.

Good news on Ekuban. I don't really care about the other guy, he is pretty forgetable.

This probably sets our DE's for next year: Eb, Engelberger, Doom, Crowder and Moss. Hard to believe we'll bring in another one. I'm glad Eb decided to come back, especially on a one year deal. I've read several times that he's a real leader on the team.

I don't understand the hate on Engleberger. He was our only DE that last year that could do anything is run support. He may not have the numbers that everyone wants, but consistantly bought it every game.

Ecuban was a very big loss last season. He's underrated. He's also (one of our few) lockerroom leaders.

Ekuban can help the younger guys out. |

Our D-Line wasn't very good and Engelberger is one of the easiest names to go after. In reality, most Bronco fans on the boards rarely mention that Dumervil is a liability against the run and provided no pass rush when it was sorely needed; Thomas and Crowder, while they have potential, were average at best in their rookie years; and McKinley, Peterson and Mallard were virtually invisible.

I don't have a problem with these 2 vets getting a chance to compete. Just because Engleberger got a one yr deal doesn't mean he will make the team.

I like it as long as they're not getting more than $1.5M per year. Those guys probably fall out of the league if they're not Broncos.

Sweet. Ekuban can play inside and outside and Engelberger is solid. I think he'll start depending on what happens the rest of the way. Ekuban was sorely missed last season, hopefully his achillies has healed up. we just need one more good DT that can plug holes. Maybe two. We have got the guys that can penetrate.

Hopefully Ekuban can recover.
Engelberger should not sniff starting, but he is decent as a backup. |
