China, determined to reinforce stereotypes of producing nothing but cheap knock offs, is the location for a completely bootleg theme park. Shijingshan Amusement Park has a lot of familiar faces, although park officials refer to them in not so familiar ways http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beijing...Amusement_Park In May 2007, the park was exposed by international media for having made unauthorized use of Japanese and American cartoon characters.[1] According to a report originally broadcast on Fuji TV's FNN News, the park features a castle that resembles Disney's trademark Sleeping Beauty Castle and a structure that looks like Epcot's Spaceship Earth. The park also features a host of costumed characters that look amazingly similar to not only Disney's trademark characters, but also Shrek, Hello Kitty, Doraemon, Bugs Bunny and a number of other trademarked characters. Park officials denied any wrongdoing. When asked by the FNN News reporter if the characters are related to Disney, the theme park's general manager Liu Jingwang said that their characters are based on Grimm's Fairy Tales. In another question, Liu insisted the Mickey Mouse-like character wasn't actually a mouse, but a "big-eared cat." Their previous slogan in English was "Disneyland is too far away. Please come Beijing shijingshan Amusement Park"; a better translation of the Chinese slogan would be "Disney is too far, so please come to Shijingshan." Shortly after the controversy, the reference to Disney was removed from the park's website. According to a May 10, 2007 Associated Press report, the park deputy general manager Yin Zhiqiang said that the park's lawyers are in negotiation with The Walt Disney Company. Disney declined to comment directly on this matter. i bet it is full of lead and falls apart in half the time of its american made counter part ... :Oo |

"They are McDonalds, we're McDowells. They got the Big-Mac, we got the Big-Mic. We both use 2 all beef pattys, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, and onions, but they use a sesame seed bun, our buns don't have no seeds."

Rocky Marciano. Let me tell you something once and for all. Rocky Marciano was good, but compared to Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano ain't $hit." |

This is the way to turn China into a US friendly nation, I can smell it now. If Bush hurries up, he could add some new rides to Disneyworld like "We Love Americans," with animatronic characters of Asians hugging Anglos. Next, he could add a ride called "Global Occupation Ain't So Bad" I can just hear the jingle there. Finally a family friendly ride called "Let's Fix the Trade Imalance" with Mickey (the big eared cat) handing wads of bills to Uncle Sam.
Then, the Chinese will copy the rides and be indoctrinated. Future Asian conflict avoided. |

We shouldn't be trading with a country that won't play by the rules. They rip off software, trademarks, clothing - any number of things and sell them to their own undercutting our businesses here. Then they send us crappy products. They're a joke.

Unfortunately true. But they are still in the throes of the industrial revolution. Once they get their act together and husband huge population to abundant natural resources, I think we will regret not taking them more seriously.
