He is the only one who can claim to "defeat" Foneco. They once arm wrestled to a tie. In the eyes of Foneco thats a loss and like kissing your sister.

I hope this isn't all they do before the trade deadline. Wasn't it only a few weeks ago that he was telling his agent to tell teams his ankle wasn't getting better?
I'm just a casual hockey fan, though - so if I am missing something, know that it's only because I'm kind of hockey-dumb. |

I was also under the impression that he's still very injured.

Wow! Last week they were saying he was not coming back...
It'll still be good to see him in an Avs uniform! |

Well, he obviously isn't interested in winning a Cup as the Avs don't have nearly the pieces needed to make even a half-serious run. I think he wants to finish his career in Denver and will give it his last-best effort should the Avs make the playoffs. He won't be an impact player since he's a shell of a shell of his former self, but at least he can ride off on his own terms. |

No way, if they trade that for Rob Blake I will puke. I loved Rob Blake when he was here but he is getting on in age.

I almost cried when i heard the news..big Avs fan and was my favorite player when he left..will prolly play on the wing on the 2nd line maybe first line with Sakic and Hejduk..if he was still hurt he wouldn't come back, simple as that and the Avs wouldn't have signed him..they want to win now!!

What a great story, or lets hope it is, not just a case of the Avs being the only team desperate enough. Wonder how much Joe Sakic had to do with this

Now all we need is a coach that can get the team to play 60 freaking minutes.

Just keep on walking sunshine! This is what we coughed up last time (Steve Reinprecht. In return the Avs gave up Adam Deadmarsh, Aaron Miller, a 1st round pick in the 2001 entry draft, and another pick if Blake resigns with the Avalanche). His best years are behind him let some other team over pay for some average play from a player in his twilight. Last edited by Bronx33; 02-25-2008 at 06:55 PM.. |
