12. Broncos Ryan Clady OT 6-6 320 Boise State Junior
Any time a team is grooming a young quarterback, it's important to give him the best possible protection to be successful. The Broncos have done a good job with Jay Cutler, but giving him a quality tackle to grow with makes sense. Ryan Clady, a junior from the Boise State Broncos, is a solid pick.
Previous mock draft selection: Same

A selection I can deal with for sure.

The more I read about this kid, the more I would like us to draft him.

Clady definitely could secure Jay's blind side for the next 13 years or so.

Plus, he wouldn't have to change team colors or mascots. It's a no-brainer!

Go get him!!

I would not mind this at all the more I have read about him. If not him I hope a DT or LB. A lot of mocks have Denver taking FS but I don't think thats as big a need.

my only worry is somewhere reading about how ....umm....not bright he was. I would love to see a corelation of wonderlic scores and LT's.....

If I wasn't lazy, I would probably do one.

Ryan Clady is the right guy for the job. He’s a tremendous pass blocker and a work-in-progress run blocker. He’s athletic and huge, the perfect combination for an NFL left tackle.

Cutler will be extremely happy to have Ryan Clady guarding his
Blind side.

I'll be surprised if he makes it to #12.

You have to look at who is in front of us. The Dolphins, Chiefs, Falcons, Rams, Raiders and even Patriots are looking for help at tackle. I find it highly unlikely there will be anyone good left at 12 when we pick.

So. If you are right, Kaylore, somebody has got to slide to 12. Who do you think it would be?

I have no freaking idea. It depends on so many things. If St. Louis or Miami takes Long, than we will have no tackles left and we'll be saddled with a Kenny Phillips (ask Miami fans how impressed they were with him this year) or reaching for a Chris Williams or Jeff Otah (whichever is left). Not that those guys aren't first round guys, but they are more suited to be taken in the teens. 12 is a tough area to be. However someone good could slip down to us there, I guess.

Going OT with the #12, is fine with me.

Get the best available, please.

I think 12 is a good place this year. It's a prime slide spot and there's the potential we can trade down from there if someone is targeting a quarterback.

IMHO, this is the smart play for us -- perhaps even pakage a player or two with the pick to pick up another #2

I would be happy with Clady. I just don't want to see us reach on a player at a need position. I want to see us get the best player available, if it is at a need position ever better.

If McFadden falls to 12, Dallas and their two first rounders will definitely come a-knocking.

I can see McFadden being there at 12....in bizarro world.

If Chris Williams has a good combine coupled with his good week at the senior bowl, he's going to skyrocket up the draft boards (especially with OTs being at a premium). My guess is he's our pick at 12 after the combine (if he's not gone before this).

With some of the press Mendenhall's gotten lately, he might be a candidate for Dallas, too. If he works out well, he and MacFadden could be on pretty equal footing come draft day. One should be available at #12, but I don't know that either will be there at #22. If we could pick up Dallas' two 1sts for, say, #12 and a 4th, we'd be in very good shape.
