Default Who Will Be Obama's Running Mate?

I'm guessing Bill Richardson. If there is one sector of the electorate that Obama hasn't done well with, it's the latino vote. Plus, Bill brings in the Southwest, which might be a good regional influence to have.

If Obama gets the nom, I agree Richardson is the guy.

Imagine having a black president and a latino VP in the U.S.! When I was a boy, standing on the roof of our apartment building and watching Watts burning in the distance, I could not have imagined such a thing. Progress happens. I'm not getting on the Obamawagon, but it does get you kind of choked up. Makes me proud of my country.

Hmmm...

I think America has been reday for a while now ...

I do think that Richardson would be a good choice -- he needs to go with a guy that can get some moderates, and has more experience. Just so long as he does not invite the Clintons (which I'm sure he wont.)

I say tap Colin Powell, yeah a conservative but one that has been disenfranchised by his party. Appeal to both sides of the coin. Will it happen heck no but hey I like to think outside of the box.

Good point but, I think Edwards would relish the idea of being able to attack special interest groups from the VP position. There would be no question that corporations would be put on notice with the Pres and VP having the same disdain for special interest groups. Edwards would also be a great attack dog!

There has been talk that Kathleen Sebelius would get serious consideration. A very popular Democratic Governor in a very red state.

She bores me to tears. I've heard Webb's name thrown around. Agree that Edwards would make a great attorney general and there have been some rumblings about that already.

I think Dodd would make a hell of a VP, but I'm not sure what his relationship with Obama is like. But I like Dodd's politics and think he's pretty fiesty.

I'd love to have Edwards on the SCOTUS. We could watch Scalia's head explode.
