Sounds just like shanahan material but i wouldn't give nothing more than a 6th rounder for the chick puncher.

Yo, Commish:

I know you're busy shredding videotapes, prepping for a possible appearance before a Senate committee and playing the role of NFL emperor, but could you take a few minutes to consider the case of one Pacman Jones?

You owe it to the Titans. You owe it to the fans. You owe it to the rest of the league.

And I can't believe I'm saying this, but you owe it to Pacman.

Is the guy in or is he out? Will he play this season or not? And if so, when?

While Roger Goodell fiddles, the Titans burn. As long as Jones remains under suspension, the team waits.

No doubt Titans higher-ups have developed a set of contingency plans depending on the ultimate resolution of Jones' case. Coach Jeff Fisher says team officials "continue to have meetings" about the matter.

The biggest question that arises in those meetings: "You think there's a team out there that will give us a draft pick for this whack job?"

The answer: Yes. You might even see a small-scale bidding war among a handful of franchises that are blinded by Jones' on-field ability.

Those teams — Oakland, Denver, maybe Dallas — know the Titans are likely to cut Jones if/when he is reinstated but might not want to fight the competition if he's on the open market.
Delay of game

Maybe Goodell is just waiting for Jones to screw up again. Really, now, how long can Pacman go between strip club incidents? There's already been one wrong place/wrong time situation since the conclusion of the Titans' season.

That incident at an Atlanta, ahem, gentlemen's club resulted in no arrests and no charges. But it piqued Goodell's interest.

"I am disappointed in that," Goodell said at the Super Bowl.

Goodell went on to say that he didn't believe Jones "has demonstrated that he understands the message clearly and that he is making the correct decisions.

"If he needs more time to understand what we expect of him, then I'll accommodate that," Goodell said.

Doesn't sound like he's in any big hurry, does it?

Meanwhile, the Titans wait. As long as Goodell keeps Jones under suspension, he isn't costing the Titans anything — not a roster spot, not a chunk of salary cap change.

But there comes a point when the Titans need to know where they stand. The free-agency market is about to open. Draft preparations must be made. Some difficult decisions must be confronted.

And one player must be traded, cut or otherwise removed from this organization, once and for all.

Why do we want Pacman? Did I miss those rumors?

Although, I know I'll get flamed for this, I'd give a low pick (real low) and use him in the nickle and returning kicks.

the problem w/ that is I think he's actually good and you wouldn't be able to keep him buried at nickel forever.

I agree he could be a starter because he actually is good...What credibility does this guy have to say we want Pacman though?

Well then that's great! I mean, if he can be had cheap and be tested out in small roles, and stays out of trouble, and can beat out Bly for a starting CB spot, then even better.

This is speculation from a some hack in Tennessee who badly wants PacMan off the team he covers.

This guy is obviously an idiot. I wouldn't take Pacman for anything. I'd be embarassed to have him playing in a Bronco uniform.

Shanahan would be nuts to commit any more money to the CB position right now.

I'll agree with you about the CB position, BUT, every year we complain about special teams. What about trading a low pick, paying him something nominal (I don't know what his contract is like currently) and letting him return kicks? I haven't seen him play a lot, but from what I understand he'd be a nice upgrade in our returns department.

I agree that he's been a problem. Even when suspended he got into more trouble.

But that's why I think you pay him little, give him a cap friendly, incentive-laden contract, and see what he can do. All I'm saying is, it's gambles like this that IMO need to be taken. If he sucks, gets into trouble, cut him and forget about him. If he keeps clean and plays well, then you found a gem and have a huge cheap playmaker.

They can also put a clause in his contract that voids his bonus if he smashes a woman's face into a wooden stage or if he touches off a melee gets some working stiff paralyzed for life.

And he might be. I mean, in his case, he was never a great QB so who knows. I mean, all I'm saying is, Randy Moss was totally written off too. Different situation, obviously, but the guy who set the record for TD catches was had for a 4th round pick.

All I'm saying is, give a really low round pick that we would have probably would have wasted anyways, give him a cap friendly contract with many, many rules and clauses, and give him a shot.

I'm not saying I want Pac Man on the team but I don't think you can have a team of all great character guys either. Just look at what guys like TO and Moss do to their teams. I'd rather have a superstar with some flaws and issues instead of a mediocre/decent guy that says all the right things. If you can find someone like Rod Smith or Bailey then I'd take that over anything but those guys are hard to find.

This team already has a bunch of great leaders with Rod, Champ, Lynch, Nalen, and even Cutler is starting to show his leadership.
