One of these days I'd like to get hold of a Ferrari V-12. Just to hear that engine roar when I stomped and see how fast I could get to 100 and back to 0. Bikes are fun and the acceleration from 0-100 is fun, but to accelerate like a bike in a car has to be better. That S500 had 0-100 and back to 0 in about 20 seconds, but there was alway something wrong with it, and I was scared to push it often. The Lexus goes 0-100 and back to 0 in about 27 seconds, and I'm not scared to do that over and over. The Lexus is a gamer, nothing ever changes with that car. I'd like to push a Porsche like that, but I can't afford it.

Yeah, but the rest of that probably took two years off of my life. A persons eyes can only take so much, jeez.

Anybody here drove a Porsche 911? I'd like to one day. I've ridden in one, but never drove one. How about a Porsche 924?

The BMW 750 is a car I like to compete against. I've noticed they accelerate well. They don't go into corners well and don't come out of them too well. But that may be the drivers. They look like they can handle anything, so I guess it's the drivers that are slacking.

They've got an iron boat anchor over the front tires... driven at 7/10 on a mountain road is a joy.

Anything beyond that and they push like a freight train. Not too many drivers are skilled enough to over come that.

Usually the cars that challenge are Cadillacs, the STS's, the people that buy them tend to want to let it rip. That's fine with me, they tend to be good drivers also. Those STS's are also some pretty stout cars, I can outbrake them and pull ahead coming out of a corner, and that's the difference. I like to see an STS around, they usually rise to the challenge. BMW's they're great cars no doubt, but the drivers don't like to compete too much it seems.

How about a 5 series BMW, ever driven one of them? My neighbor has a 525i but he won't let me drive it. He wants to race, but I don't trust him. Not to mention what if one of us wrecks. I think I can beat a BMW 5 class with a straight six like mine, but I don't see too many that want to compete around here and I'm sure not gonna push my neighbor too hard.

I'd like to get ahold of a BMW CSI class, I like those cars a lot. I was looking for one, but it didn't work out.

I'm a Mercedes S class kind of guy from way back. I like big fast sedans. I've owned a 220S, a 220SE, a 250SE and an S500. I didn't like the S500 too much, was in the shop too much. I have a Lexus GS300 right now, nice machine. Mercedes straight sixes I always liked, the one V8 I got disappointed me. So I grabbed a 2003 Lexus GS300 and what a car. Nice midsize sedan, tight as a drum, accelerates great, a little slower than I'd like on top-end acceleration say from 70-110. It would be a world-class machine if it was 250-300 lbs lighter. It's a straight-six which is the best configuration. Superb brakes. RWD and very predictable oversteer. BMW makes a straight six still, and a BMW probably handles a little better plus the BMW is available in a manual shift, but the Lexus has reliability on its side. Mercedes always built a nice straight six, but they haven't produced one of those for a long time. Too bad, straight six is a wonderful engine, easy to work on, simple smooth design.

So what ya got?

this from the guy who thinks you should be reamed by the government if you make over 200k. He thinks gov should take , take, take yet this is what he drives. I think anyone that drives luxury cars should be taxed at 60% if they are foreign cars. How you like that one? BTW: I drive the coolest of them all. The gas saving 2001 Corolla with my gas hog in the garage a 1959 Coupe DeVille. It will be awesome someday

I won't apologize for taxing the rich. I pay my taxes gladly. If you want to nail me with a gas tax, no problem. I'm not scared of taxes. My straight six ULEV rated Lexus averages 22 MPG. Granted, the S500 was a mistake, but I averaged 16 MPG with it, which is comparable to a Ford F150 truck. What's your problem with foreign cars? You brag about driving one.

GM owns 48% of Toyota, did you know that? Lexus is a Toyota brand, therefore you and I are are shareholders in GM. I'm not gonna **** myself so somebody else can make a dividend. I'll buy GM's best product, for you it's a Corolla, for me it's a Lexus. Fool.

Sorry, I have my dream car which I should be able to build in a few years, but I have been busy saving for for my kid's college lately (3 boys). This has been my dream car for more than 25 years, and I am putting little bits of money away each year get it. It's a "kit car," but actually will be better than the original when finished. The other cool thing about Cobra replicas is that you can tag them as an original, which exempts them from modern smog and emissions standards - that means the side-pipes really work. Anyway, within the next few years I should be able to get started.

1966 Shelby AC Cobra (mine will have a 392 stroker - tricked out about 550 hp)

me too, the r6 is forsale, im sticking with the race bike, new law here in ontario that if you get caught doing 50kms (30 miles) over the limit they impound your bike on the spot, $10,000 dollar fine, week suspension of license, all at the roadside, guilty until proven innocent.

My running from the police days are over, ive seen to many people die crashing when they were riding a little over there heads. Im not responsible enough to behave on it so it has to go. Ive got 2 little kids that i wanna see grow up, besides my supermoto race bike can do everything and more that the r6 could, it just cant go as fast.

Yes, Kawasaki. They were actually a 1057 cc carbureted 4 cylinder DOHC motor. Made around 135 horses at the rear wheel, ran a top speed of 178 MPH, that’s radar verified not calculated by engine RPM’s as some magazines used to do, and ran a 10.40 ¼ at about 140 MPH.
For the longest time the ZX-11 was the speed king. Honda took a shot at the title with the CBR1100XX but in typical Honda fashion it wasn’t really faster or more powerful, it was just better refined.
Nothing really challenged the ZX-11 until ’98 when Suzuki came out with the GSX1300R Hyabusa.

The Hayabusa didn’t just match the Kawi’s numbers, it shattered them. It ran a radar verified 196 MPH and rather effortlessly whipped out a 9.8 ¼ at a little over 145 MPH. Keith “Shine” Dennis later ran a stock ‘Busa to a 9.47 ¼, but he’s arguably the best in the business.
