The Associated Press reports that Jim Zorn will be the next Redskins head coach. NFL Network's Adam Schefter and the Washington Post's Jason LaConfora first reported it was likely Saturday afternoon.
Dan Snyder is always full or surprises. Zorn, the former Seattle QB coach, was hired to be the Redskins offensive coordinator more than two weeks ago. He's known as a bright offensive mind, and perhaps Snyder cooled on Jim Fassel after seeing the public's reaction to him. Jason Campbell will have to learn Zorn's West Coast offense. From QB coach to OC to Head Coach ... all in roughly 2 weeks. Not bad.
Why did the Skins fire both Saunders and Williams? |

Did Jerry Jones set a precedent last year in hiring Jason Garrett before Wade Phillips? I mean, now Snyder did the same thing in terms of hiring a DC and OC before a HC. Seems very counterintuitive. Hopefully Zorn is up to the challenge

I always like to see new blood get a chance.
If Mooch and Fassel were the next best choices, I will take my chances with Jim Zorn. Zorn did a marvelous job with the Seahawks passing game when they pretty much told the entire NFL we are airing it out, try and stop it. |

Yea Zorn's a good coach and a good personality. He's a HC type IMO.

Must mean that he willing to listen Danny Boy call plays for owner's box. We are extremely lucky to have Bowen as an owner

Zorn the original Seahawk QB. Now the HC of the Redskins. Where's Dave Krieg? But this brings up an interesting point - the Seahawks, a team that came into the League in 1976 have played in and won more playoff games than the San Diego Chargers, an original AFL team. I haven't researched this, but is there any original AFL team that has won less playoff games than the Chargers?

Jim Zorn was one of the most exciting players of his era . . . he was like Steve Young with way fewer weapons. He's a great offensive mind, and I think he'll be a good coach if Snyder gives him at least 3 years . . .

Zorn was pretty good. Krieg was pretty good also. A couple forgotten QB's that could have won rings on better teams.

I'd actually mentioned Zorn around a month ago as someone I'd like to see replace Heimerdinger. Good for him getting the big bump.

I believe those AFC teams with less playoff wins than SD are Chiefs 8 Jets 8 Bengals 5 Ravens 5 Jaguars 5 Browns have 11 but they started in 1946. Took both versions. |

Link Are you ****ting me? Seriously, we interview seven coaches for 300 hours each and decide to give the head coaching job to this ****tard? To quote Trunk, was Jerry Glanville busy? "We're proud that our search was diligent, thorough, and resulted in today's announcement," said owner Dan Snyder, who will hopefully die in a car accident. "Jim's track record and reputation as a player, great teacher, and as a coach makes us confident that they will translate to success for the Redskins." No, he is going to give us three mediocure seasons until you fire him and hire Vince Lombardi's dead corpse to replace him. At least it is not Jim Fassel, who would make me want to cover myself in red paint and try to ass **** a bull. But Zorn is still a ****ty choice, considering all that was out there. Here is what we know: 1) He is 54, which in my book is too old to be a head coach in the NFL. You need someone young who can work 90 hour work weeks or is a complete psychopath like Belichick with nothing else to do. This guy seems like neither. 2) He has never been a coordinator before let alone a head coach. Oh, he coached Matt Hasslebeck for seven ****ing years, making him slightly above average. Holy ****, get a ****ing contract ready! 3) He is going to run the West Coast offense. I am sorry, but the West Coast offense is for ******s. I want someone who will run the ball down the other team's ****ing throat all game long. I want a team that will run 50-gun 38 straight times in the fourth quarter instead of trying to complete a three-yard out on 3rd and 2. Go screw you dick eating p***Y. 4) He looks like he is mentally disabled. I am sorry, but it's true. 5) His name ryhmes with porn. I am 12 years old. To me this is just ****ing ridiculous. Trunk already did a marvelous job talking about what a ****ed up process this has been, but seriously, they had a number of suitable options and choose none. For instance they could have... 1) Just hired Gregg Williams. Sure he sucked in Buffalo, but the players liked him and ****, why not give him a second chance? If he sucks, fire him in a year and hire Cowher. 2) Offered Jason Garrett or Steve Spagapisufpalsiu $15 million a year to run the team. Do what we've always done and just throw money at the problem. 3) Promoted Joe Bugel just for comedy sake. Sure the team would have sucked, but holy **** would it have been funny. 4) and probably the best choice, hired Russ ****ing Grimm. Oh, a young head coaching candidate who has strong ties to the organization, let's not even interview him! Holy **** is Snyder stupid. I hope he gets a-hole cancer. |

That's a quality meltdown. When a guy calls for Joe Bugel to get the job instead, you know he's at his wit's end.
