Default CU Buffs Get #1 RB in the Nation!

I can't possibly rub this into the Huskers faces if it doesn't have its own thread.

Darrell Scott signs with CU!

Scout.com profile: The most complete running back in the West in the class of 2008, Scott is a powerful runner, has excellent vision and can stop on a dime. One of the most prolific runners in California history, could own several records by end of his career.

Go here to read a nice profile and see a vid of Scott in action:

Can't wait until that day after Thanksgiving.

Scott is great signing, but I'm gonna wait a little on him, I still remember the hype that followed Marcus Houston, and them remembered the shock when he transferred to CSU. He's gonna have sky high expectations, but like he said in his interview, he needs a coach to teach him footwork and the basics.

I am more excited about the recruits we got at LB and OL. Getting LB Katoa (considering Oklahoma) and LB Major (Considering Wisconsin) were big. It looks like we got some good depth there.

Its good to see that Colorado is now competing against big programs instead of small non major conference programs like the past couple of years. I think they need a couple more good classes to make any seriously noise nationally, but this is a phenomenal start.

Go Buffs.

Scott sure has laid an egg so far this season.
Granted, its only his freshman year, but after all the hype around him, you would've thought he should be having a little bit better year than his paltry 3.5 ypc and 1 TD.
So, I'm curious. Has he been hurt? Just not adapting enough to the college level? Or what?

We can only speculate, but I do think there is something they aren´t telling us. Scott either ****ed up somewhere along the line or his injury is worse than people think, but if he´s healthy there really is no reason at all to have him in for only a few plays a game. He even lined up at wideout 2 times yesterday. Maybe he´s having some problems adapting to the college level (pass blocking), but with the info I have the way DS has been used so far baffles me, but then Helfrich doesn´t thrill me in general.

Laid and egg! Most true freshman don't even see the light of day on the field and you are saying he laid an egg!

Its funny how people jump to conclusions

Not fully healthy, and it doesn't help that everyone in the world knows where the play is going when he lines up in the backfield. They need to run an occasional playaction with him in the backfield to back the D off a bit.

Yes, and with our patch work OL, the wiggle and moves he has are a better fit right now.

Just goes to show how "great" recruiting rankings are.

Stewart plays with a chip on his shoulder because so many schools overlooked him. Stewart has a point to prove.

In the end, I will take heart and dedication over pure and raw talent.

It's what happens when you are 5-7 in heels. CU was his only BCS team offer and that only because the LB they signed out of Ohio told Hagan to check out this little back out. Very glad he did.

If you have the time watch this video. It's just his senior year tape. He was injured his JR year so that also played into him flying under the radar.

That's all you needed. I've read that his league didn't have that great of a reputation either, so there was a perceived competition issue too.

Let's check back in two years. A little early for judgment if you ask me.

I love how people are calling bust. MOST 5 star athletes don't even play until the 2nd year minimum. People need to relax we can start calling him Markus Houston AFTER next year if he is a bust.
