they do this every year , send the gear of the team that lost to the needy , but for some reason this year it is much more funny ... with video oooOO New York Giants Super Bowl XLII gear is flying off shelves, but what happens to the losing New England Patriots' merchandise? Shirts, sweatshirts and hats, all printed with the Patriots as the Super Bowl winners, arrived at the World Vision warehouse in Sewickley on Tuesday. Many of the shirts say "19-0" -- a reference to the Pats' quest for a perfect record. Instead, the Giants' victory ended the AFC champions' season at 18-1 The losers' gear will be packed and sent to third-world countries by World Vision, which works to improve the lives of poor children in more than 100 countries. Misprinted merchandise for the Green Bay Packers and San Diego Chargers, who lost to the Giants and the Patriots in the NFC and AFC championship games, will also be sent to other countries. |

If I can find a 19-0 Pats shirt, I will without a doubt buy it. |

My brother spent a couple of months living in Brazil. The first thing he said after the game was "I guess there will be a lot of 19-0 Super Bowl shirts running around Brazil".
He said he always knew who lost the World Series, Super Bowl or NBA finals by what the locals were wearing. |

They've been doing this for a long time. On the one hand, it's good to donate clothes to needy... But on the other hand, to mass produce something and just throw it away seems ridiculous.

it is a great idea as far as giving it to the needy , they have to make both sets of stuff anyway ... so it comes down to ... burn it , recycle it and make new stuff to sell here out of it "costly" ... or give it to the needy , cheapest and most worthy is totally to give it to poor ....

My buddy grew up in South Africa and he saw those shirts all the time. The first year we won the Super Bowl he was miffed because all these kids were in Packers shirts. He says they also play a lot of the failed pilots and partial TV shows down there as well.
