Adam Schefter is reporting that Bill Harpole ... a longtime Broncos front office man - the equipment manager when I worked there in 1984 (you might recognize him as the red-headed guy in all the behind-the-scenes videos and shows), three months renewed a few copyrights he first bought during the 1998 Broncos 13-0 run: The phrases "Perfect Season," and "19 and 0," and a few others ...

He has had preliminary discussions to trade the copyrights to the Patriots in exchange for 5 percent of the take. Schefter says that percentage is worth several million dollars ...

Pat Riley got paid with three-peat so they are out there. Now I know who that red head guy is. I always thought he was Reeves or Shanny's one man posse. Every shot he was right there behind him.

You can't copyright the words themselves. But you can copyright the phrase and term in any print/advertising situation.
