Default What the heck is up with this "Trade Walker" crap?

Okay, so, the last football I saw was the Titans-Broncos game. The next day, I left for Japan(I'm here for the winter ski instructing). Since then, I have been online for bits and pieces here and there, long enough to track our standings, see who's winning(but I haven't got to see highlights or anything) and such. We finally managed to get internet at the pension I'm staying at for the winter, and I log on to see what the word has been with my beloved Broncos, and there's talk that Javon might get flat out CUT?? And the counter argument to that was that Shanahan got value for Lelie, so we should get it for Walker? HE'S BEING COMPARED TO LELIE? WHAT THE HELL HAVE I MISSED, PEOPLE?? When I left, he was still the awesome Javon Walker we had last year, only he was injured, so he wasn't playing. He was still coming back next year. All was well. What have I missed?

After the last game Javon said to the media that Denver was not a good fit for him and that he wanted to be cut or traded. Basically he wants to go to a team that will only throw the ball to him. He doesn't want to share the ball with Marshall, Scheffler, Stokley, and the running backs. Either that, or he doesn't want to be in Denver anymore because it reminds him too much of Darrent Williams.

A few days later Javon said that he was mostly speaking out of frusteration.

Those threads seem to talk about how we should trade him, and who/what we could get, arguments about it, etc. However, I want to know where this sentiment started. At what part in the season did the general sentiment of the board turn into "Well, we're trading Walker. Let's start talking about who we'll draft to replace him, and what we could get for him.". I'm confused, and therefore thought I'd ask.

And yes, I did miss all that. I mentioned that.

You just woke up this morning and said "I should go on the internet and antagonize some strangers trying to discuss their football team because mine is such a mess I don't want to think about it or I will break down and cry again".

Right?

No. I'm just killing time until 10 o'clock. I'm buying a rear disc brake conversion for my hot rod. They don't open till 10.

I thought I'd lay some reality on my favorite homers while I waited.

killericon, listen to this and get caught up with why people are pissed with Javon:

You could also watch the video, for full effect:

At either link, the first available file described as Javon meeting with reporters as he cleaned out his locker on Dec. 31 is the spark the lit this fire.

My issue with Javon is HUGE salary with a iffy knee. I'm not sure he'll ever be the same. I did not love his comment either esp since he missed most of the year. So yes Denver has a tough decision to make. Denver will have to keep him or cut him. If he stays fine but, I'll wonder how much we can depend on him. BM took his limelight that is biggest issue for him. Life is not over if we cut Javon either we have alot of issues right now.

I wouldn't worry too much about it Killericon, the first time this came out the interview really twisted things around, so much in fact that Mediator started a thread breaking it all down.

After the first interview he came out and recanted his comments, which really sound like a bad misunderstanding between him and the team. Apparently Javon thinks the Broncos were going to go one route with his contract and was unhappy about it, but found out that was not the case.

I'm willing to bet that once he gets back into camp and back into the swing of things he will be just fine. Either way his contract is expensive enough that we can't cut or trade him unless he agrees to a pay cut.

Javon want's Cutler to throw him the ball. Cutler said I will throw it to anyone I want.

Javon does not like playing second fiddle to Brandon.

Darrent took the bullet that was intended for Javon.

Javon would be best served with an attitude adjustment or a bus ticket.

And what evidence is there to support that? I'd like to see someone hit their intented target inside a 20 passenger limo, at night.

Where have you been man, Japan. Oh wait that actually applies this time!

Javon referred to himself in the third person a day after the season ended. Javon said Javon doesn't fit in with Denver's system and Javon didn't have Denver as Javons first choice. Javon is all about himself and could give to ****s about his team.

Javon is about records now winning as a team. So ApaOps5 thinks Javon should be going bye bye.

Oh and for some reason Florida was shown Javons medical papers so he can guarantee his knee is sound and that the Doctor who said he was heading towards Micro-fracture doesn't know ****. I want to know how he got those papers.

Came right from Wabbit. Every single test he had done on the knee showed no new structural damage caused. He didn't tear his ACL again, didn't tear any cartilage. He took a very nasty shot/twist and as a result had alot of swelling.

Of all the doctors who looked at that knee, only one thought microfracture was something that should be pursued.

Heh heh heh.

Hinging your credibility, or Javons health on Wabbit is risky.

I don't care about Javon's little outburst. So what if he's a prima donna. So is Marshall. Look if we hold that against professional athletes there really going to be many left to root for. I'm fine with his 15-yard penalty explanation.

If he's cut there's no cap relief. If he's traded it's not likely you're going to get a player back that can have the impact he would have. The Broncos would be better keeping him, that's the bottom line.

ESPN is such a terrible thing to watch

He's not going anywhere and he's going to come out and compete against Marshall for the #1 spot. Being a "businessman" he should know anything less will effect his bottom line in the future....if he's loyal only unto himself (as most players are) he should know this. Ultimately, if he's still the Man & the #1 guy like he feels he is, then let him prove it in camp.
