Today on the local San Diego Sports Radio...Philly Billy Werndell (a total fruitcake, but that's not the topic here) stated something to the effect that Denver will release Javon and that Dallas might be looking to scoop him up. I found nothing here on the front page, so I'm thinking now that this was just a speculation, rather than a report. Is there any news about this in Denver?

They have the cash to keep him for now if they want to, especially now that Bowlen has said that they are going to more conservative in FA then in years past.

Shanny managed to get value for Ashley Lelie, no way he cuts Walker & gets nothing

It will be interesting to see how we play this out.
Add another talented WR in the draft and keep Walker... we would have quite a bunch of solid targets for Jay to throw to. |

It would be a dumb **** move to release Javon. I don't give a flying **** what he told the media, keep him on the squad unless a legit trade offer is made. Only release him if his career is physically done.

This is a totally different scenario because if we release Walker it'll cost us more than keeping him. |

maybe this is just me but if Javon can't handle Marsh and schef ahead of him how will he handle TO, Glenn and Witten in front of him?

The only reason the Broncos would release Walker is if he could not pass a physical.

Where is Javon going to go and be the number one guy without earning it?

If Denver felt he really wanted to go after talking with him or they felt he needed MF in his knee they would release him. Otherwise your right it is cheaper to keep him. This will be interesting. |

Denver doesn't care whether he wants to leave or not unless they can make it benefit the Broncos. Rumor had it Lelie didn't want to be around during his final months and MAY have made that clear... but it didn't get him released.

I know what your saying and yeah of course it has to benefit Denver. The issue though Walker's contract and knee are bigger issues then Lelie rookie deal. Teams are not going to pay his deal or offer enough in a trade We'd be lucky to get a 4th. Denver will either keep him or cut him imo we'll see what happens. I'm all for keeping Walker myself but, I'm not 100% sure Denver will. |
