Default Peyton Manning does not always "scan" the whole field...and Hixon...

Manning has some habits to stare down the side of the field in which he will throw to. This costs him in clutch situations like today.

I don't know if anyone noticed on their 2nd to last drive, where they were at the goal line, he had someone (I believe it was Gonzalez) wide open at the top of the screen. He was clearly off his man and it was an easy TD. However he just looked straight and didn't even glance in that direction.

No knock on Manning though, Wayne choked twice, and Keith choked pretty badly at the goal line (where the ball hit off his hands into the DL for an INT).

Hixon seems to be the Giants ST specialist, for tackling and returning.

Good to see him be employed somewhere... still don't think he's all that great though...runs very soft.

Hixon´s success in NY shows that ST success isn´t down to the guy with the rock, but rather the guys without.

Hixon became incredibly tentative after our first game when the Bills player nearly died in that collision. He's now getting his head back in the game, a big part of that I think was the Giants playing Buffalo when said injured player made his return (as a spectator).

He's doing for the Giants exactly what I said he'd do for us, be a special teams maven. Shanahan rolled the dice when Hixon lost his mental edge, trying to practice squad him, and it didn't pay off.

i noticed the manning stare down quite a bit this afternoon as well. Pointed out to my brother Cutler isnt the only guy who does that. He has a quick release so he can get away with it to a degree.

Really surprised the Colts didnt win that game. How lucky was the wedle interception ? I remember there being many people on this board calling for us to draft this kid. Seems like he will be a good one.

Default Go Hixon!

DHixon's success is just another 'black eye' on this coaching staff! Their lack of patience highlights his case. A player dealing with a traumatic play, which effected him, not unlike a physical injury, and this staff, showing no patience, unceremoniously dumped him. I'm glad he has rebounded and has found huge success with a team that is fighting for the chance to play in the super bowl. This truly is a money game, and a 'what have you done for me lately'. Yet pulling the trigger too early can come back a bite that a$$, like in this case. Continuing to bash him now only shows an alliance to some of the improprieties of being a die hard fan.

They didn't "unceremoniously dump" him. They tried to sneak him through waivers onto the practice squad.
