SoCal dropped some bits and pieces in the Army All American Game Thread and that made me realize that we don´t have a thread for it yet and that some people might want to talk about it now that the Recruiting battles are heating up in the final month and some commitments from highly rated players are still outstanding.

UT and CU are going neck and neck for DS. Man, it would be awesome to get this guy. With the line we are building right now, it would be great to watch in the future.

I've been theorizing that the #1 RB, #1 WR and 1 QB (Darrell Scott, Pryor, Julio Jones) are all being coy - not letting on to anybody - and are listing all their recruiting colleges as "Medium Interest," because CSTV is paying them to announce their choices on TV on LOI day next week. It sounds strange, but making an announcement on TV is probably outside the bounds of NCAA discipline, and taking money to "announce" doesn't make you a pro athlete ... just a pro "announcer."
Something has to explain why the three #1's at the glamour spots are keeping so mum ... |

Darrell Scott will announce next Wednesday, LOI day February 6 - live on TV.
CSTV ... don't know what time yet. I think #1 WR Julio Jones and #1 QB Terrell Pryor will also announce on the same show. |

Ohio State is still in the running for Pryor.
As is Michigan and Oregon. I am a Michigan fan, so I hope he chooses them, but Ohio State is not out of it yet. He has only made 2 official visits so far and that was Ohio State and Michigan, He talked about taking a visit to LSU, but canceled those plans. |

My high school football coach has some sort of connection down in Columbus, and that's just what he told me. I wouldn't expect Pryor playing there anytime soon.

last I heard he has whittled it down to OSU and Michigan, he turned down LSU and cancelled his trip to Ore.
I think he knows that even though he might ride the pine for a season at OSU it would be the better situation. At Michigan he would be thrown into the fire with a team in transition of a new offensive scheme, coaches and personel that don't fit the scheme. Michigan lost it's top QB, RB, WR's and I think Jake Long will be gone as well. His first 3 years might very well look like Clausen's at Notre Dame last season, if he was a Buckeye his chance for success could be much better. And if he does choose that state up north...oh well...The last time Michigan nabbed the top QB and RB in a draft class that was supposed to dominate, they wound up with Henne and Hart who were 0-4 against the Bucks and 1-3 in bowl games, I think we did ok with Troy, Ted, Gonzo, AJ. |

I think it's pretty much a done deal that Pryor's heading to Michigan. My Coach is actually friends with Rich Rodriguez, and he told me that Rich told Pryor that he was heading to Michigan before he told the West Virginia players.
Another note about Pryor, I guess he said that he'd be going to Oregon if it were closer. |

Thats going to hard for him to pass up on Texas. The money that program puts into the facilities blows CU away. Stupid ass Hoffman set the school back so many years. Hopefully he can be lured by Hawks charisma and passion.

My gut feeling is that Pryor is going to Michigan. Although there will be a new offensive scheme and Michigan will have to replace the offensive talent they lost this last year, thy system will be best for Pryor to use all of his talents. However, he has stated that he wants to compete for a championship in football and basketball, he has a better chance of doing that at OSU. I heard he actually likes basketball more and plans on playing in the NBA when it's all said and done, not the NFL. He would have a better chance to start at Michigan in basketball as well, OSU is going to have a good recruiting class next year.

Michigan needs Pryor more then anyone else right now and if Pryor wants to play right away in an offense best suited for his skills then that is where he should go. It just makes no sense for Pryor to go anywhere other then Michigan.

I became a CU fan that year ... I was 9 years old when my grandparents gifted me a subscription to SI. Then when we beat Penn State, we were on the cover ... great memories. |

As long as USC doesn't get 'em, I'm happy.
Oregon's in the hunt for a lot of these top prospects. That's good to see. |

As long as USC ain't snakin CU's recruits, i'm happy. I need them to stay in power until Colorado can build stock and make a run though... there aren't too many great programs on this side of the country right now especially after Cal crashed and burned this year.
I get tired of hearing about all these SEC schools. I really wish we could have seen USC/LSU. That would have been one for the ages. |

Nebraska fans...don't be surprised if you sign current Miami commit WR Kendal Thompkins. We're trying to make room for WR Laron Byrd and also WR Tommy Streeter, I think Thompkins may have cancelled his Miami visit and tripped to Nebraska this weekend instead because of this...that is, at least from a somewhat dubious "stars ranking" perspective, he sees at least four current (Aldarius Johnson, Travis Benjamin, Collier, Davon Johnson) and as many as six WRs (God knows why we are bringing in that many WRs, I know we are real thin there, but six or seven in one class is just way too much, I think a few might convert to other positions though) with higher rankings= he would be a career special teamer at Miami.
