yea Rules and stuff seems not to matter anymore ... I got banned for 24 hours for ASKing why a thread i started about football was moved to OT .... never got a reply .... i did nothing wrong, didn't even curse and no one will even tell me who the mod was that did it .... banned me and left this message in the banned notice .... YOU DONT LIKE IT , TOUGH $HIT .... seems fair ....

the day of the Houston game .... i couldnt even get to chat room ... and we loose ... i blamed the mane

for the karma that made us lose "jk" ...
it was still BS and uncalled for .. and never did get a reply to who or why and i ask the right people in PM , if rules state i cant cuse .... im not a fan of your mods leadership to curse at me in a ban that was uncalled for and done outa spite

I have been banned before and took it like a man , when i broke a rule ... happend 1 time ... and was no big deal .... me and alec had a little tiff heheh

This was total Bs ..... i started a thread about andro and eas and football and the legality of it and it was moved to OT ..... i ask why i the moved thread and was banned 5 mins later ..and cursed at .... it was Mid day so thought maybe that might narrow down who mod was .... I ask TJ in PM to at least give me a reason or if i was outa line tell me . and i got nothing back ... pretty classless on whoevers part .. and no i don't think TJ did it cuz he didnt reply .... maybe, but i just figured he is a busy man with the baby and stuff and never even seen

Mod isn't an easy job....lots of ins and outs, people talking behind the scenes, its also tough to put your personal opinions of members aside. But at the very least this community and its users deserve explanations of why things happen.

The mods move stealthily.

Apparently, you're never told if/why you're banned.

You'll also notice that the mods never defend themselves of this stuff. Sort of curious. They also never take responsibility for merging threads, etc.

I'll say this, Taco does a good job on the big stuff. But, I'm not a big fan of the rest of the mods structure, to say the least.

But, I manage to sleep at night.

Everything Apple is a closed propietary system with a limited hardware landscape. It should, and had better be a bit more stable. But with that it also does cost more in the short and long run.

Consistently better product rankings, consistently better reliability rankings and consistently better user-satisfaction ratings, including customer support rankings.

Like any other industry, the better products are going to cost a bit more... whether it's cars, TVs or toasters. You can't begrudge people for paying a little more for a reliable product that will last them longer and perform for them more efficiently.

As for the question, first off... component replacement is a PC phenomenon. I've never replaced a major component in 10 years of absolutely abusing multiple Macs for our business. (I don't mean running internet and MS Word, I mean high end, CPU-intensive applications.)

Beyond that, you can very easily replace most major components, should you ever need to. This myth that Apple's are made grown from magic beans and can't be fixed is hysterical.

Components are easily-obtainable. You just rarely need to obtain them.

If Apple was that much better of a product and a better long term investment then I fail to see why it has so little market share. Personally I have hope that this changes so that everyone will begin to see that Apple products are not any better than any other computer products in the same price category. They are not any more reliable or secure than windows and the new Leopard O/S has been compared to Vista with the release issues.
