1-Bernard Berrian wr- 27 years old so can still get better. Good deep threat.
2-Micheal Turner rb- Only 26, runs with power and has fresh legs. This guy will get a lot of action in FA. 3-Max Starks OT- 25 yrs old and is massive. but isnt a starter yet. 4-Jared Allen-DE- another young 25 yr old whose best football is still ahead. 5-Terrell Suggs DE/LB- 25 yrs old and a great athlete. 6-Corey Williams DT- He's played well at the DT in GB only 27 yrs old 7-Carlos Dansby-LB- Young and just starting to play well 26 yrs old 8-Travelle Wharton-OT- Most of you talk about gross, i think this guy is better As far as I know all these guys still going to be FA but some will resign with same team. Many will say we have more needs so not to go for Jared Allen or a Micheal Turner. I was more just listing who i think are some of the FA young enough to still make a big impact in the NFL. |

Michael Turner was a favorite of mine but with Henry stuck under contract, I have to say, I think that would be a pipe dream. I've never like Max Starks... not at UF, not a Pittsburgh, even when he started on their super bowl championship team. Allen and Suggs are beasts off the edge... if we hadn't just drafted two DE's in the 1st and 2nd along with having Dumervil on the squad, I would say yes. I just can't see Shanahan doing those deals... its like admitting he was wrong on any one of those guys when its still way too early to tell. I would love to get Corey Williams in here. My only problem with him is that he and Marcus Thomas play the same position within our defense. Both are 3 tech's by nature. I think we can take Dansby off the board, after shifting him to MLB this season and with him playing well, AZ FO has already said they will try to resign him... if they can't, they will franchise him. I haven't watched a lot of Wharton or Gross this year to be honest. I know of Wharton, I liked him coming out of South Carolina. I thought he would have fit in well here. Still, i think Gross has a better upside and pedigree. Good list. |

I live in Illinois and listen to a lot of Chicago radio. For the most part, they hate Berrian. As most should know, bear fans tend to think their players are the greatest, so to hear critical analysis is refreshing. They criticize his hands, effort(not laying out), ability to go over the middle, etc. He is looking for a ton of dough as well. As for the rest of the list, sure. I would pass on Turner. Lets upgrade the line and see what Young/Henry can do.

Justin Smith is a better fit for what we need out of DE and will be much cheaper than Suggs or Allen.

Would be a huge sign. A guy who can rush off the edge, an issue our OLB's have, however he is familiar a 3-4 system. This fills what I feel is our #2 issue our OLB's. Pulling Sugg's in would allow us to look for a MLB and move DJ back outside. Quote:

This year is going to be interesting to see where they go with FA's. Hopefully we start as soon as possible. I would like to see how quickly they reevaluate the talent and then start releasing or planning for future moves. |

I don't like Berrian I just think he is pretty much a one dimensional guy and that is all. We don't need DEs and don't see Jared Allen making it to FA anyway, Suggs might not even make it that far either.
I agree with people on not getting Turner. I'm in favor of seeing what Henry and Young can do with a better healthy OL. Henry was playing great at the start of the season before the OL and himself got bit with injuries plus the legal battle looming over his head all season long. |

Berrian and Starks/Wharton/Gross are intruiging, Berrian woul compliment Jays big arm an one of the OTs would help with our OT problem.
Then draft Okam and a LB or even trade for Rodgers/Jenkins. We look good |

how many top flight FAs are going to want to go to a losing ball club?
are we slipping in the attractiveness of Denver? |

They're the Denver Broncos not the Arizona Cardinals or Oakland Raiders! We still have one of the best well-run organization in the league with great facilities. One down year doesn't turn us to unattractive destination of places to be in NFL.

IMO Berrian drops lot of balls. He is also looking for a big contract. Chi offered him a extension last year but he rejected it as he wants to test FA and reportedly wants more than what Patrick Crayton got.
Travelle Wharton is good player but if I remember correctly he had some injury concerns. Infact when he was hurt Gross played LT for them. Having said that, Both are young and either one of them would be an upgrade to our OL. |
