Just thought I would start a thread to help myself out. We are rapidly approaching the major college bowls and I thought I would ask for a few of the players I should watch for. (I don't really watch many college games).
I have watched McFadden run, I have also seen Dorsey dominate the line (even with a leg injury). Who else should I watch for, and please tell me what team they play for so I can keep an eye out this Bowl season. What other DT's, how about O-line, and LB as well? Let me know who you would really want with a pick around #9-12 so I can watch them. Thanks. |

Keep an eye out for Kevin Smith (RB, University of Central Florida) against Mississippi State in the Liberty Bowl on Dec 29. This guy is an animal and is on the brink of breaking the single-season rushing record held by Barry Sanders (180 yards shy). Granted, Barry did it in less games at OSU, but lets face it - Barry was one of the greatest. Kevin is coming back for his senior season and should be a favorite for the Heisman.
And yes, this is the same school that produced Brandon Marshall. Go Knights!! ![]() |

Orange Bowl:
Brandon Flowers(CB), Xavier Adibi(LB), and Vince Hall(LB), Ellis DE/DT. The Hokies have had a top ten defense for over a decade in college ball. John Engelberger is a product of this system, and while John isn't an everydown starter IMO, you see the kind of committment you get from him on the field. |

I wonder where Dorsey will go this year -- if he slipped to 3 we might be able to trade up to nab him...
Unlike the doom and gloom I see on the Mane, I dont think we are 40 players short, and four years away from the playoffs. We get two OL men that are good, one middle linebacker, and a great DT in the middle... and I think that most of our problems are solved. Those that want to blow up our current system to start over again will take us back -- not foward. |

College track Jamaal has run a 4.2 40 yard dash, benched 300 pounds and squatted 400 pounds. On March 11, 2006, Charles placed fourth in the NCAA 60-meter indoor track and field championship finals. On May 14, 2006 Charles captured his first conference title and the third Big 12 100-meter title for Texas by winning the event in 10.23 at the Big 12 outdoor meet. He led the 200 meter race after the preliminary round but elected not to participate in the final, as Texas had the Big 12 team title well in hand. On June 10th, at the NCAA outdoor competition, Charles took a fifth in the 100 meter finals, edging out UTEP's stand-out sprinter Churandy Martina (sixth place), who earlier in the year ran a 9.76 (wind-aided) 100-meters, which is just shy of the current 100-meter world record time (9.74). Charles also placed seventh in the 200 meter finals, and ran the third leg of the 4 x 100 Texas Longhorn relay team, earning a fifth place in the finals. Charles' efforts helped the Longhorns earn a third place showing for the men's track and field team, the highest since a second place finish at the 1997 NCAA finals. Thus, Charles completed his first collegiate track season as a four-time All-American (60m indoor, 100m outdoor, 200m outdoor, 4x100m relay outdoor). Also, he's 6'1 and 205#. Weaknesses include trying to taking a lot of runs to the outside and he's had some ball security problems. Very similar to Tatum Bell but faster and better hands as a receiver. Oh, and today is his 21st birthday so he'll be relatively young coming out... |

OSKIE
Rodrique Wright is actually playing pretty well for MIA. I think he would have gone higher if that shoulder wasn't screwed up. I am telling you watch Torain. I think TD when I see the kid. |

Torain is very good, but won't be playing tonight. He's been out and remains out.

Billy Clyde Pickett's boy Kellen Davis looks extremely impressive. Big target in the passing game and has the athleticism to play defensive end as well. |

Yeh I think that Cherilus is more prodder, playing heavier then he should be. I doubt Alex Gibbs would have liked that weight.
