Ravens Loss Keeps "Goof" on the Roof

The Ravens’ latest loss is bad news for a man from Canton who last week began living on top of a bar until his favorite team wins another game. His best chance may have been Sunday, with the Ravens facing the winless Miami Dolphins.

But right now Ronnie Stack is still living on top of the Canton Station bar. He’s calling himself the "Goof on the Roof.” Even before Miami’s touchdown in overtime, Ronnie had a feeling his vigil was in danger of being extended. “It just seemed like something was happening in the second half. I knew they were going to fall apart and blow it,” he said.

Friends from the Canton Station say they'll make sure Ronnie's alright. “We love him to death we want him off the roof we were praying to God in heaven that he would get off, but he just didn't make it,” said bartender Shawna Kauffman.

The bar's owner, Darren Petty, doesn't mind the attention. He’s even selling "Free the Goof" T-shirts, with the proceeds going to charity. “Ronnie's a great Ravens fan,” Petty said. “You know it's easy to be a Ravens fan (when the team is) 13 and 3, but when you're 4 and 10 and you're showing support like Ronnie's doing, that's a true Ravens fan.”

Ronnie's hoping to leave the roof soon, but with the Ravens facing two tough games to end the season, he isn't holding his breath. “From the way they looked today, I'm here for another two weeks. I might as well just get used to it,” he said.

Ronnie is spending about an hour a day off the roof, to attend to personal matters. If the team does lose next week to Seattle, and in the final week of the season to Pittsburgh, he plans to come down from the roof – but then he’ll go back up at the start of next season, until the Ravens win.

That's lame. A Bronco fan did that in the late 80's. The only difference was he did it on a billboard.

He is gonna be up there for a while.

What's lame is that he chose to do it with only 2 weeks left in the season. The Billboard guy was up there for like 2 months, Denver went 3-13 that season.

That doesn't sound like fun being frozen and all.

It was the 1990 season when we went 5-11. He was up there for quite awhile. This season reminds me of that season and the next season we went to the AFC Championship game. There is always hope.
