I'm probably missing some - and of course not all these will take a OT, but off the top of my head here are teams that might consider an OT in the first or second round this year:
Falcons Rams Chiefs Ravens Texans Bears Lions Broncos Chargers Steelers Cowboys Packers That's 12 teams - would it be surprising if 5-6 OT's went in the first 35 picks? |

I think you're spot on Spring, with the great depth there is (and quality top talent) at the position this year, I think you're going to see a lot of teams bite early and look for their future stalwart at the position. I think you and I have been in agreement that this class probably has 8-10, perhaps even more picks at tackle in the top three rounds. My dream is for Denver to get a guy like Christopher Williams in the second, but he might not even be there: some people say he's going to sneak into round one.
San Francisco is ****ing retarded. Helped the Patriots, got a decent prospect in Staley (what they gave up and who to makes me pissed) but there are probably eight tackles at least who are better than him. Some people seem to think we're fine, but I think we need to get Harris a running mate for the future. I know you and some others are concerned about his back as well (Harris') so that might be even more of a point to go out and surround Jay with some more talent. I see Denver getting a DT/LB/WR/OT with their first four picks or so, if that fifth from Oakland accelerates, toss in a safety too. |

I'm hoping a guy like Oher will see the team needs and decide to come out and make this OT class even better.

I don't think Harris will be a RT either (effective) but Pears is horrid.

Raiders should be added to the above list as well.

I'm thinking the Broncos take Ryan Clady in the first and Erin Henderson in the second. If the Broncos get a 3 rounder then Dre Moore or B.J. Raja.

I would take the Ravens off the list. They really like the kid from Maryland they picked in the supplemental draft. Plus I expect a QB is #1 target this season.

Anybody think Loadholt is the first OT off the board if he declares?

Him and Otah don't have near the polish that Long has as a player but Long is maxed out and in my opinion will never be a top flight LT in the NFL. Loadholt and Otah (Ogden and Tarik Glenn) both have chances to be pro bowl players at LT with some time and good coaching.
I do think that if Loadholt has some good workouts IF he declares, he could easily jump Long as the first offensive lineman selected. He is still a little raw but he is screaming with potential that can't be denied. |

A guy I repsect just posted this mock on another board - and I think a lot of people will like it for the Broncos. But it also reinforces my point that if we don't take an OT in roound 1, the likeliehood of getting a really good one diminish by the time we pick in round 2. In this scenario, there were 7 OTs taken in the first 35 picks.
![]() Here it is: ROUND ONE 01. MIA - DT Glenn Dorsey, LSU 02. SL - DE Chris Long, Virginia 03. NYJ - RB Darren McFadden, Arkansas 04. ATL - QB Matt Ryan, Boston College 05. yea that mock isnt horrible but I would rather see a OT instead of Ellis if Loadholt comes out that would be perfect. I could also see us making a trade to attempt to get a dt as well. possibly trade up and take okam and bell. who knows.
