Good pick up WR in the 3rd
7. Lavelle Hawkins, WR, California
DeSean Jackson gets most of the attention and rightfully so but Lavelle Hawkins is quickly emerging as a top pro prospect in his own right. A highly-touted recruit coming out of high school, Hawkins originally signed with L.S.U. but poor academics necessitated a short detour before he ultimately ended up at Cal. Even though he certainly isn't special in either the size or timed speed departments Hawkins is exceptionally athletic and in a weak class of senior wide receivers many seem to think he may even break into the top two or three rounds.
Or another solid 3rd rounder.
California FS Thomas DeCoud, 6-1.5, 200, 4.55, California… Athletic Cal safety has benefited from overall lack of talent at safety for the 2008 draft. DeCoud is a taller safety with long arms and good flexibility; also has decent speed, but not great speed with a 40 time in the 4.55-4.60 range. DeCoud is a solid wrap-up tackler who led the Bears with 106 tackles this fall, but he isn’t necessarily all that instinctive or physical; also lacks much in the way of ball skills; indeed, has only one career interception, although he can line up at CB in a pinch. Outstanding special teams player who has had six career blocked kicks.
Both are rising stars according to the lists posted.
DEN would have to get a 3rd of course!

QB Joe Flacco, 6-5, 230, 4.90, Delaware
I dont see how they can think this guy will go #4. Sure, he has a big arm but if it wasnt enough to impress the Coaches at Pitt than i dont think he will make it on the Pro level. Granted, ive never seen him play but he actually went down a notch of competitive play so he could play. I would give him far more credit if he had gone to another Major.

I really like Lavelle Hawkin and hope he last to the 4 round.

He would make a great guy for Stockley to tutor in the slot position.
Same size and speed with good hands. Ive seen Hawkins take some brutal hits and get up and continue to play as well.
